well the damage is higher but the specials went from doing 4k of damage with a 400pt max damage rifle to doing 1800 points of damage with a 1000pt max damage rifle. So while weapon damage went up total damage w/ specials went way down. Post CU even if it said 6% damage the actual value of max damage only went up by 2%. I just wonder if they are going to continue to perpetuate this lie and have 8% damage slices continue to only add 2%.

Sadly, we slice weapons not specials, so your argument is pretty moot.



not really, specials base their damage on the weapon. Specials are just a damage multiplier of like 1.3x or 2x etc.

lets say a weapon is 400 max damage in the old system (de-10) .. you slice it and get 30% max damage so now its 520 max damage. using last ditch in the old system (x6 multiplier) you hit for 3120 as opposed to the 2400 damage hit before the slice.

de10s now cap out at 948 max damage. If you use the most damaging real special (have to discard last ditch because the way it now works you cant use it twice) you hit for around 1400's. Thats roughly a 1.5X modifier. So lets pretend that we could slice this for 30% damage (we will ignore the fact that any slice to damage will be negative because the 948 cap). So your de-10 is now 1232 max damage. Using the same special hitting for 1.5x modifier thats only 1848 which I can easily do with a carbine right now.

even though the weapons max damage doubled in the CU the special moves were reduced by significanly more than half. A 30% slice isnt as huge as before. I am ok with the fact we will never see 30% again but 6% seems insulting. How about 10 or 15%?

I also am curious about the weapons in testing. Currently the better the weapon the crapier the slice. I can make a total crap weapon right now and get a 22% damage slice but If I put krayt tissues in it and get anywhere near the cap the slice is either going to be 1% or quite often a negative percentage slice.

I think it should be twice as much... at least... hopefully it's only temporary. Like the same text boxes (what happened to the complicated idea, simple is boring... )
