Thread: Sweet smuggler pvp template!

Honestly, a mez is going to be a lot grosser than the root. Most PvP battles aren'tone on one, they'regroup vrs group. Imagine being able to mez two thirds of the opposing side while your friends gang up on the unmezed guys. I look forward to concussion shot being fixed and the new usefullness it will give smugglers.

Personally I can't wait for them to turn concussion shot into a mez. Rooting is very useful, yeah, but it's not the end all. It's a quick cheap fix. You can do just as much kiting with snares/kd's, but actually involves tactical movement.

This is the template I'm using now, I was going to drop Smuggler but THANKS TO Y'ALL I did not. Oh and yes Rifleman is nice, I took Master Smuggler/Rifleman and PIstoleer 0404. That gave me 2root shots so I can stop 2 targets and attacked the 3rd that is still coming. I also found myself able to solo again, which is nice to know just in case you are in one of those groups that don't know how to support each other very well and attack everything in sight.


Also everyone, T21 with Last Ditich... OUCHIE I pull 4k on a player (Notcounting a Bounty Hunter in Duelest Stance) and well over 9k on a creature (Yes the weapon was made by a 12 point weaponsmith,has damage slices, and has a damage power up on it). I find myself dueling alot more, and that goes for Jedis as well.Yes its true that Last Ditch will miss at times, but with an output like mine I'm very happy with it.

Or do u need 2 player for chainrooting?

Nice ideas on templates.....personally, I don't go for the "I win" buttons.....Lighting people on fire is so much more fun, who cares if it's gimped.


Smuggler/Commando seems so interesting and useful....now if I could just wear that battle armor I had made some how.

Takes a lot of practice. I recomend anything over level 150 that will kill you in one hit. You learn to sink or swim kiting those fast ^_^

I think you get me wrong: I can kite. (root - snare - root - snare -...) but I cannot root - root - root...


Do you need 2 ppl for perma-root or did I understand it wrong all the time it ppl were talking about root - snare - root...?

I think you get me wrong: I can kite. (root - snare - root - snare -...) but I cannot root - root - root...

If you time it right you can root right after the timer wears off. I have a rifleman/doc buddy and the two of us can solo necrosis no problem. I keep him in one spot and he lays down some pain.

silly that was my old template and it was boring Being a Master Smuggler, Bounty hunter with commando 0004 is so much more fun. I can cause most Jedi to TRY and run away from me when they find they CANNOT get anywhere near me. (this is one on one) and it large scale battles I have a 5 in crowd control due to 80m AoE with about
7 different states I can place on a group


Oh and I might have to drop these arms if they don't fix the damn faction bug. I got Ubese but I can't wear the arms with it and I really don't want to wear tantial or malbari.

I have Master Smuggler now with some rifle. When all is said and done it will be Master Smuggler|Master Rifleman|Pistoleer x4x1|Commando xx1x.


Dropped ent|dancer and pushed to CL 70 last I was on.


If I ever decide to play an Imperial soldier type I am doing Master Marksman|Master Carbineer|Master Rifleman|Pistoleer 44x3.

Once you get good with the timer you can land another root the moment the original root ends.. thus chainrooting.


This could be fixed by just tweaking roots to include 25-50% diminishing returns on each successive use. For example, with 50% returns: The first concussion shot I use will be a 40 second mesmerize, whereas the next I land on the same target will be only 20 seconds, and the third one won't land a state at all (no effect), giving the target immunity to that effect for a few minutes.


Otherwise a mesmerize's usefulness kinda wanes, especially in group PvE and solo PvP, unless you can kill your target before the mesmerized target wakes up.
