Thread: Advise from the smuggler vets please.
Smuggler / TKM works too, butit won't be an uber FOTM temp anytime soon. You can tank fairly well, extremely well with a good healer. I've found that I can tank just about any krayt other than the ancients and grandswith a healer, and I can solo juvs solo, canyons with the help of random nearby mobs.
I'm not very good with a pistol, but I can whip one out to land snares, roots, etc if I need to. Last but not least... If I get in over my head, I can Feign and not have to take a trip to the cloner. I've also helped kill grands and ancients, but I had to whip out my pistol and kite just like everybody else. This is one of the very few templates that can get away with a ranged / melee mix without being totally gimp. Yeah, my accuracy, defense, and speed is pretty weak with a pistol, but I can always COB before I pulla pistoland not suffer as bad.
All I have for healing is novice medic, stims every now and then to keep from burning my mind too fast, +18 med eff bio pants, and a med droid I pull out whenever I'm going up against something tough. Now if only I could find some more snow cake....

Rifles still the way to go? Or would pistols be a betetr choice to combine with smuggler? Does carbines offer any advantage over the other two?
