Unfortunately, I am one of those who is all out of trust atm. While I still enjoy playing the game and being a smuggler,I've found that I have reached the limit of my patience in regards to the revamps in general..and the smuggler revamp in particular. To continually ignore or delay core systems of the game (combat and GCW) that need fixing, game and immersion breaking bugs and gimped iconic Starswars professions (Smuggler and BH) for the purpose of rushing an expansion out in time for christmas and to try and outshine other MMORPGS that are either out now or being realeased soon over the wishes of their paying subscribers screams to me of rampant ignorance of the worst kind.
Yeah they may get a few more accounts from the release of JTL but right now they are losing the same if not more number of accounts from the decsion they made.
For myself... I can no longer to myself justify paying monthly in the hope that my chosen profession will be revamped wijin the next 6-8 months, if indeed we are slotted in after the combat and GCW. Between now and then there is a large probability of another crisis arising that forces yet another delay to the smuggler love promised so long ago. Blackman's comments in the 2 interveiws on smuggler and the forum community have also had their part to play.
So this is my swansong so to speak, I clicked on that button marked cancel yesterday, I'm gone on the 20 AUG. Will I be back?...honestly I don't know. Atm I'd most likely say no but if the boards stay readable by the public so I can keep up with new developments and I can see a definate improvement in the direction the devs are going I may resubscribe to at least see what it's like.
I have enjoyed my time as a smuggler and as a member of the smuggler community, the MOST civil, friendly and imaginativebunch bunch of rogues I've seen for quite a while
And hope that I one day can come back and once again lurk in the back of the cantina with you all.
And kudos must go out to you Caylin, you just kept on throwing youself into the fray for us time and time again, always looking out for us. Truely you are the capo di capo of the smugglers /salute. You along with Garvin have to be the 2 best corespondents this whole board has the luck to have.
Finally, Greenmarine if you see this....... for gods sake don't let them stop you from doing the revamp for the smugglers, from the ideas you've already posted it's plain to see you love the smuggler as much as we do and want it to be much more than it currently is. ake it what it's meant to be....Iconic.
So long, farewell and thanks for all the fish spice

I have no more trust or confidence in this development team or their management. And honestly, I don't see anything happening that can possibly change that. The game may still hold my attention, but it's due to the playerbase and in SPITE of developer activity.

Thank you all for your feedback so far. It is good to see that I am not alone. Personally I split my time now between this and another MMO. I still play because I enjoy the people. In the short term, I have decided to stick to the Dirty Fighting line, but besides that stay out of Smuggler. It is good to see well thought out and relevant responses to my original post. I do think trust is a major issue in these types of games. Hopefully a dev or devs will read this. I'm sure they want to help us. I'm sure GreenMarine would drop everything else for this if he could. But they don't have that choice, to some extent. They can argue for it though, and thats what I hoped. I hope this would provide them ammunition for that argument. Maybe it has.
Again, thank you all for your responses,

I'm afraid I cannot agree on this one, at least in some respects.
JTL is essential to the continuation of SWG, imo. Should it have been part of the game at release: yes. Does the game desperately need it: absolutely. Can the game wait 6 months to rebalance and then bring out JTL: no.
Expansions are necessary for MMOs to bring in new players, they are one of the major things that revitalizes an older game and makes it competitive against the new generation. The devs are certainly painted into a corner here and it's largely their own/SOE's fault. They released an incomplete game, they overnerfed/overbuffed and generally didn't fix a lot of major issues and now they have to pay the price. They have two options: 1) Push back a desperately needed rebalance for JTL and piss off their player base, most of which will stick with the game if we take an honest look at things OR 2) Push back JTL for the slow process of combat rebalancing and lose business to WoW that might have come to JTL.
JTL has the potential to be a blockbuster, a so-called "killer ap." There is no way SWG can remain a viable MMO with the next generation coming out if it doesn't have JTL. Hell, I signed up because of JTL. If the space content is engaging and fun and basically playable with everybody and their cousin packed into a space zone then the wait for the revamp stuff won't be so bad. However, you are advocating a long revamp process without the JTL content to keep us occupied during that time.
There's just no way.

They don't all die in EP3, you just have to assume they're killed between EP3 and EPIV
It's partly the reason SWG is allowed to get away with Jedi in the game - there's the slight possability, although entirely in the EU, that more than Obi-Wan and Yoda out of the trained and apprenticed Jedi survived.

I agree with you, that they cannot push JTL back. I tried very hard not to say that they should push it back, but that they should try and get some of the other stuff done beforehand in my 'regaining trust' section above. I realize that without JTL they have no 'defense' against the other game popping up. My complaint isn't so much the release of JTL, but in the way they have handled things so far. You seem to agree with me that things have been handled poorly, and I just hope that this has some effect on how they will be handled in the future. Not this thread, though that would be ncie, but this whole situation that has occured recently.

Me too...I'm glad they all die in Episode 3.
OMG! that's right! perhaps I will wear a tee shirt to Ep 3 saying 'See what happens when we don't get our smuggler revamp'
