Thread: Speculation on the slicing biz post-Minigame
Hmm... I'd jack up the price in a heartbeat, but I'd never botch a slice on purpose. I have a reputation to maintain. I don't think doing that would be cool at all.

Out of boredom yesterday, I counted up the people on my addignore list...or tried to at least. I quit counting at 225. I'd say about 10-15 of those people were the "rare breed of idiot" that we dread dealing with as they drop our IQwith the black holes that reside in their heads. My spammer ignore list just keeps growing, and I've gotten to the point that if I even see someone repeat the same sentence once in less than 2 minutes I put that name on the list. Ask a dumb question? 90% chance you go on the list. Can't spell "you", "please", or "mate" then you go on the list.
"Wow Tas, that's kinda harsh." You'd think so, but the reality of this game is that I ALWAYS see someone new doing it. Subscriptions down and "SOE is reepin gwhat it sows!"? Oh I think not. CU has ensured I will continue to have a steady supply of Ignore List Ammo.
As for the mini-game, I plan on doing a set price/annoyance ratio. Here's how it works. Each slice will have a flat rate. The more you annoy me, the more damage I do to your weapon and your costs increase by 1/2. Dumb question? Oooh, looks like your SAC cost went up and so did the price. Don't like it? Oh man, now your reliability just dropped and you owe me 2x the starting price. Insults now? Keep talking please, I need something to drown out the noises of my knives cutting your weapon up like a dentist's drill. I never destroy a weapon, even if the person demands it back (usually with threats of CSR stuff)....nope, I just walk to the bazaar (you have to walk there too...it's key that your former customer sees where you are going), then place it up for sale at whatever you last set the price + the bazaar interest. Then walk away.
If he challenges you to a duel then you slam him with concussion shot (since it's being changed to a break on damage paralysis). 40 seconds...40 seconds of him unable to anything to you. That's a long time for you to pee on his shoes in public...or doodle on his face with a marker. 39 seconds in, end the duel and walk away.
Heh, am I the only one that finds this kinda funny?
We gripe and moan for years that we want slicing like it will be, with pros, cons, and return customers....and now we complain about the possibility of return customers?
*chuckle* Sorry, just funny to me.
Honestly, I was a Smuggler a long time and dropped it, recently returned (yeah, respec, but did it the hard way first
) and between that was a Doc. The best and easiest way to deal with rude and obnoxius customers is to finish the job, get your pay (however you can) wether they like the job or not, and /addignore.
This is a game, and dealing with rude and beligerant people is not fun, if it is not fun, I don't want it part of my game. /addignore is wonderful for that, and yeah, my list be long.

If you like that one - there was some randomness thread in the Corbantis forums (i think) and i posted something about a bothan and a cucumber - pure gold. Cant remember it for the life of me tho.
And I think the thread got deleted.

If people are rude or bligerant or demanding or juvinile the get slapped with a retard tax. The people who slap me get nothing. I love the ones who, when I tell them I don't take abuse and won't slice for them, reply "Lolz dude. I was just rping. commmon. slice 4 me plz." If you were a real roleplayer you'd understand that he-man-bitch-slaping the guy helping you out is a bad idea.
Oh i will never complain about return customers mate. But I will definately make stupid and annoying people either pay more for my patience or really 'modify' that weapon for them... heh heh.
Return customers are wonderful things - I have a lot of regulars - even one guy that puts up with the 205c/fpprice that comes with me being a lowly Staff Sargeant Imperial. Good customers get treated like gold. His next purchase - he's getting 5 crates of pixie for him to enjoy or sell.Just for being him.
The rest can lick my nutsa...
then walk away.. either way, i got my cash.
EDIT: Oh and I'm excited about the slicing changes. Bring it, we can take it. We've seen their worst.
