Lucky me, I saw the first version of the state of the game. There were some very interesting differences... I commented on it a bit, so it was revised with the edition you see today. Correspondents normally try to go over anything the developers are about to make public, to check spelling... contradictions...etc. We help tear things apart before they go public.

This is a very real concern, the original version of the smuggler statement made it sound mandatory even more than the one you see now.
Sorry, which versions are you referring to?

Just go ahead and rename our profession to Scoundrel since we can't smuggle without space. Then, implement the real Smuggler profession as an elite scoundrel in JTL. It's been said before so I figured this was a good time to remind everyone that we're only smugglers by title.
I sure hope that they are not saying that I have to purchase additional products to perform the activities that were promised in the original product.

This whole thread implies that thepowers-that-be might actually add smuggler (or other) content to JTL --rather thanlaunching agraphically pretty, but largely contentless game -- which is pretty much how Galaxies started off, and some might argue stillis. The worst case scenario in my mind is not that Smugglers will be required to buy JTL in order to have something worthwhile to do -- just the opposite -- I'm worried thatJTL won't offer anything to smuggler's, despite the assurances of the Devs. Nothing points to the idea that cargo/resources will play any role in the JTL. And...without cargo, it's hard to see how there'll be contraband. And without contraband...we're right back to square one. I hope the Devs know what they're doing, but I took up "smuggling" almost a year ago now with same hope...
