Thread: The poor state of the game.

This saddens me. It's fairly apparent to the dev's that since SO MANY people were willing to holo-grind, so many more would still like to become jedi with a new system. I anticipate the new "jedi quest" system will be more time consuming...but appear less tedious to the naked eye...they are payed by the month, sigh.
I left this game 7 months ago and returned last week. I find it fun after the hiatus, but this game is still very broken one year after launch. I do not see how JTL can be extraordinary when its foundation is broken.
I really hope this game doesn't die...but the future looks very, very bleak in a galaxy far, far away....
It will be easier to unlock look at this:

We agree, but the problem is that this isn't a crafted script where everyone stays on cue within the context of a larger picture. Its an MMO and everyone has a strong desire to do what they want. As has been clearly demonstrated, no matter what the designers do to prevent lots of Jedi, players will overcome that obstacle to become what they want.
When all the players lashed out at the professions system, which was designed to minimize the total number of Jedi in the game, it didn't matter, because...players will still achieve what they want to achieve. So rather than replace one painful system with another, the team sat down for many long days and nights to talk about the shift in continuity. In this case, it was decided that the fun factor was more important than continuity in this game.
It certainly was a difficult decision and it was decided that this path was healthier for the overall game.

That came from a post on www.swgbounties.com which was a copy from another place. From what that says it appears that getting Jedi will be easier.
This game is really borked, yet I still find someway to have fun. I am not going to criticize you for being frustrated, because I can understand the reasons. Here is how I see things though.
1) I intend to play this game for a long time. As much as I want everything now, I also know that I would gobble it all up now a be kind of bored in the future.
2) This game is big. Although, I started out with the intention of being a pure bounty hunter, I have tried most professions to some degree. While I never saw myself as a fan of crafting, I've actually had some fun experimenting with those professions and now I can understand why some people like it.
3) As screwed up as this game is, I seem to always be able to find something fun to do. This doesn't mean I actually feel like I am immersed in the Star Wars universe, it does keep me entertained.
4) Every now an again I go back to my old EQ server and realize why SWG, as screwed up as it is, gives me more enjoyment. I can solo, group, and pvp at my leasure. No real raids yet, but I am SOO burnt on raiding from EQ that I can do without it.

You wanna know how they could have slowed the hologrind Jedi babyboom? Easy. No xp if marked AFK. 80% of the current Jedi would be non-existant. The cantinas and med ceneters would only have real docs and entertainers. Would have given them a hell of a lot more time to put towards the other professions.

Don't you just feel the love? I guess smugglers are left with version of the truth number 3 or is it version 4 or 5?

A bit off. Last I checked we were in the teens.
Yeah Like others im a BH on one character and a smuggler on another. Getting bent over on both now is just not worth the time and energy.
I dont wanna be a jedi, I have no desire to be a jedi. Can any dev understand that? I KNOW there has to be others with the same mindset. We DONT WANT TO BE JEDI.
This game will be renamed JEDI Knights very soon. Every character playing will be holding a lightsabre. How silly.
Time to cancel as I said in another post. I get this BS as work, and I play to forget about work. Id rather stare at my wall.
Jedi isn't that grind. I have a FS and if Pub9 stays the way it is, you can kiss a lot of Jedi bye bye.
My 3 professions are Smuggler, Pistoleer, and Jedi and they all equally suck.
Smuggler and Pistoleer, what can you say...a laughing joke. I don't have to say anymore about this since you guys already know.
Jedi, not worth the reward for the effort and time you put in.
awsome loot from death watch?! THE alum materials, binary liquid, and protective liquid coating....
