So....
Where does the Smuggler revamp occur in this new grand scheme?
We've been delayed more than the GCW and Combat Balance revamps and yet, once again there is no mention of Smugglers.
It is in the sametime frame and once we ship JTL and re-assemble theteam, we'll put together a more concrete answer, though it will be during this time.

As much as I appreciated Thunderheart responding to my question, he still really didn't answer it. Is the Smuggler revamp going to come after the GCW and Combat revamps or before? I think it makes a huge difference, time wise. If it's before, then yeah Feb. sounds about right, if after we're looking at July...2 years from when the game was launched and smuggler was broken

I think when he says the same timeframe, he means "after JTL." Well, that could be anytime. I don't think we will see a revamp until at least late spring of next year.

The smuggler revamp is at least 1 year off from JTL. Each of these major revisions to the current system: Jedi Trials, JTL, combat revamp, GCW revamp, will add bugs and balance issues of their own, all requiring additional patching. Couple that with the fact that - if EQ is any indication - it will be SOE's goal to release a new expansion pack (if not two)every year for the life of the product.
We're a back burner issue for them. We may not even be on the stove at the moment. Not enough people want to be smugglers like they want to be a jedi or pilots.
If the smuggler revamp is a make or break issue for you, then it might be time to find a new game to play.

Guys, we are not going to receive a revamp, bug fixes, or new spices. Its just not going to happen. STOP putting money on a certain date, or trying to figure out which publish we'll be in, or when we will be following what or which. I can give you that answer.
Ready?
Here it comes....
NEVER.
There. Accept it, its the facts. There has been nothing in the works for us, there is nothing in the works for us, there will be nothing in the works for us. Its the history. They will continue to jerk the entire playerbase around for the almighty dollar, and as long as they string people along to keep playing, they make money. They don't care if you are playing happily, playing contentedly, playing disgruntedly, or playing angrily. As long as you play, they get what they want.
Solo4114 had it right, folks - when you get mad enough, you need to vote with your wallet. Until that time, its a waste of energy to keep all the wishful thinking going. It is just NOT going to happen.

I'm inclined to agree with fallingdown. It's going to be a LOOOOOONG haul to get to our revamp if we have to wait until after the combat balance and the GCW.
The questions are: "DO we have to wait until after those two revamps?" and "Should we wait until after those revamps?"
Is the smuggler profession going to be a big impact to what they are going to do to the GCW? I mean they don't even know what they are going to do with it.
Also, are they going to be using those lists that they made the corrospondents do to make "hot fixes" until the fabled revamps?
And what the hell is supposed to be happening to prepare the "ground game" for JTL?
Man, I wish I could get in on that stratics tonight.

Until you've been in the industry, you wont know what a bunch of liars and back stabbers devil-opers are. Welcome to my world.
And to all those that say be patient, I'm tired of being patient.

I wholeheartedly agree with Shrendy. Why? Because we have ZERO evidence to point to the contrary! After more than a year of constant, reasonable feedback, what do we have to show for it? All the same bugs, some nerfs (Panic, Feign Death, etc.), hollow & broken promises and no dev attention whatsoever. Sure, GreenMarine deigned to grant us a moment of his time, but it was unpaid time and he's not permitted to DO ANYTHING until after the Jedi fixes, the rebalance, endlessrebalance fixes, JTL, more endless JTL fixes, and then all the higher-priority profs get their turn (BHs, Jedi again, etc. ad nauseam).
So one-star us if you like, but your patience and passive waiting offers exactly what the dev team wants, it puts you on the backburner until you raise a stink with your wallet.

I'm all kinds of frustrated today. The combat balance was the last tiny piece of rope holding the piano of the game system from falling on all of us. No all I hear is wood breaking and strings whipping around.
The affect on the amuggler revamp is so incredible. We literally went from getting a few lame fixes this month, to not getting anything for 6 to 8. I feel like we should have taken the original revamp plan and thanked them for assigning the monkeys they have trying to type out shakespeare to fixing us up a bit. Then we still could have begged for a revamp next year but now we got nothing. No spices to sell, broken pistol specials, uncontrollable slices and skills to help fight a GCW that has ground to a halt thanks to the new super-jedi. Since pub 9 I haven't sold a single person fp and the other day I had to resort to running missions! MISSIONS! I'd drop smuggler but its not like any of the other professions are any fun right now either.
What does it take to hire more developers? You keep missing goal dates, you add more staff. Its not like they don't have the money that we've all given them.
So anyone have a creative way to stay in business as a smuggler until they fix us some time in the dim future?

JTLs better be good. I'm not gonna wait around till Feb. 2005 for smuggler to work if it isn't.

And now its been announced (devtracker) that "11" was bumped until after JTL so who the hell knows what is going on.
My money is on the first major publish post JTL Revamp.
Given the october release, my money is on a february 2005 smuggler revamp.

I know I said I'd never post here again (due to some ungrateful heathens,) but I have decided that drastic times call for desperate measures.
**edited**
In all seriousness though...when Joras and I were at Fan Fest, they mentioned Smuggler not being enough to pull off one full patch, and they they would most likely roll in the other hybrid professions with us (SL, Commando, BH, CM.) At least that's something I recall hearing.
I sent an email to TH today about all this. I want to cancel my account, but I just can't. *lip quivers*
I have to go before I break down and cry.
*quietly sobs while running out of thread*
***edited because MaliceMarcus owns me and doesn't like when I post jokes on the boards. /sigh

We are already planning a correspondent summit for the Combat Balance already. One of the things I am doing today is working out dates and times.

I happen to agree with Shrendyk...it will never happen.
Each time the seem to give us nothing but lip service. Hell they even blatently lied about working on it for Publish 9...they obviously never started.
I do believe I'm done with SWG...and I started way back 3 months before live. I've done my time being patient with them and supporting them with my money.
