I'm still a smuggler first. I'll be doing the space thing but my smuggler tag will be up the whole time. Seeing as I still need to work on my FS xp I'll be on the ground a lot. Don't worry about the people who decide not to Jump to Lightspeed, I'll be there to slice their gear.

If they do the GCW and the Combat rebalance right, then everything is going to be okay.

Those 2 revamps are probably the ones that will make or break the ground based game, both should of been done a long time ago.

I was factioned for a long time, but got fed up of the GCW was more of a melee battleground, if you didnt have a melee template you may as well not get involved.

Then after a while standing in kaadara watching the NPC stormtroopers using TKM moves on Rebel NPC's sort of really pushed the point home.

I dropped my faction (was colonel), and will rejoin a faction when it gets back to being more like star wars and the galactic civil war.

I think we should be able to slice ship weapons and other stuff in the ship. That would be nice, and would also give us some more income. Say you get the abillity to slice ships at master. That would also reward those who dont just take the slicing tree

Well I disagree. You see the good and mature players will do a little play in space and say its ok and go on to their normal lives. While on the kiddies will spend countless hours in space trying to be the uber pilot. So actually it will be better off for us...here's a scenario.

(Standing in coronet feeling like its a good day to do a little mischief)

Smuggler(S): Slicing Weapons and Armor for (rate) blah blah spam.

(Smuggler notices everyone going to the space terminal)

Random Kiddie(RK): Dewd! How I space fly??1? N33d to Pwn l33t!!!1!

(Smuggler thinks about a new way to make great profit)

S: Slicing TIE Fighters and X-Wings, 3k!!

RK: Dewd! Can you slice my sh1p!!1!1.?

S: Yup for 3k, However (explain randomess)

RK: C00l (initializes trade) I want damage!!

S: (Accepts trade) Now selling (space ship) for 2 million!! PST for offers.

See it can be very very profitable for us, of course we would need the tag SpaceShip Jacker.

just evil empire...but serves them right i guess....

ships should be able to be sliced, so should all vehicles....make them speed or durability sliced....weapons on ships same as weapons on ground.....let us pick what we want to slice (damage, speed etc.)but make the % random of course.

I plan on dropping smuggler unless JTL produces some true need for this profession.

One less @$$-o you guys have to worry about as smuggler (but I will respect all of ya for sticiking it out)

I was hoping that JtL would have slicable components. After all, the Falcon was faster since Han "Made a few modificiations myself. She's plenty enough fast for you old man."

Is this not the case? No slicing for JtL?

Well actually all he did was take the stock engines out and put military grade enigines in. In JTL everyone can make "modifications" to their ships.

Well he did quite a bit more than that. Slicing ship parts would be VERY in keeping with the Han Solo factor. Because you're right, he DID install military grade engines, as well as shields, and THREE droid brains (which would often argue with each other) and in fact, the entire thing was a mish mash of parts that SHOULDN"T work together, but he jury rigged it. That's the prime example of slicing if you ask me, not as the word "Slicing" in Star Wars means, but as it means in this game, re-rigging something to do something better than it's intended to.

Argh, I can think of a really simple, obvious way our slicing could recreate this in JTL, but I can't talk about it here!! Goddamerfliggerfackermoferbumpher..

On another note, if say smuggling mission were ever recreated in space.. how would we do them with our weeny little fighters? Would we need to earn our pilot prof transport ships first???
