I think he may outlast us all at this rate.

I will offer to be the next one as well, their call ... and I am sure whoever they choose will work hard for the community, so I have no concerns.

Maybe not outlast me ... since I have chosen not to go for Jedi ... keeping the triple-threat.

Well the one thing we have going for us right now is that the smuggler community is more of a community than pretty much any other profession going. Who ever takes the role will have that working for them.
The only thing that eventuallly got me out from rocking under my desk when Caylin did the ol' /detonateDroid on us ... was that we've got about as strong andsupportave community and generally on target mission as any profession correspondent could hope to have behind them. Hopefully we'll see a new uber correspondent and even more patient and ever present help from the old timers we've still got left in order to help them fill the impossable role Caylin did so well.
I mean, we come to the forumsnot just as people w/ some of the same skill boxes, not justto b!tch and moan about this skill or that balance issue, not just to ask about templates, or about pricing,... we do all of that of course,
... but I think (or at least this is the feeling I get here) that we come to the smuggler forum first because it really feels like the community thatthe forums should be all over the place. Go look at some of the other professions. All those "Woo hoo I made master tonight" posts get scolded on many of them, ignored on most. I've actually seen new masters of profession get abused for that sort of post. But here, we all take the 10 seconds required to welcome the person and 5-star them to boot. When someone asks the questions that have been asked before we tell them to check the FAQ but since we are takin' time to respond at all we toss in a brief answer, welcome them to the profession, and toss in a
for good measure. ....
We'vegot over a years worth of baggage and we've got a bit of "amen brother" thanks to it.The smuggler forumregulars come hereto catch up with what everyone's doin' that day as much as for news about the profession. Largly no doubt because there is seldom news about the profession
.. but we still come (and probably it's our most visited forum on the site)and read the "a chuckle forthe smuggler" thread or the Dallet series. We still indulge in the re-hashed revamp ideas, and people are very seldom bashed for their brainstorms.
I hope we see a few quasy-correspondents in addition to the new offical one helping the community stay focused, patient, and helping us be heard ... All the names mentioned above and few others ... we'll need em' all.
.... I'm gonna goback to rocking under my desk now.
(edited for type-o .... sigh... all my posts are eventualy "edited for type-o" ... I think I'll just add that to my sig)

I agree, fishbrains, Geevo, and WesBelden could all get my vote.
But Dreven you HAVE to apply... If you were elected Smuggler Correspondent, together we could rule the galaxy as Boudreaux and Thibodaux (Note: I doubt anyone outside of Louisiana will get that reference).
In the meantime I'd like to note that I also will not be applying for this position. I know, you're all devastated, but there are a lot of good reasons that I'm not applying:
A.) I don't have the time.
C.) I can't organize anything.
D.) I'd still be a horrible Correspondent even if I had the time and could organize worth a darn.
E.) No one would want me to be the Smuggler Correspondent... I get no love... *sniffle*

What the hell. I'll apply for the next Smuggler correspondent position. I have the time to do it. I'm intimately familiar with smuggler, the issues, and what needs to get done. I do have some actual 'industry experience' (I was a moderator for Magic Online for awhile), and while I have talked about dropping Smuggler in another thread, I realized that I never will drop it. It is part of my character, it is part of the way I play, and it's not going away.
Would anyone vote for me? Who knows. But is the correspondent voted in? I don't think so.
So we'll see what happens when the official call goes out!

I think we can all agree that there's at least a dozen people in the community who meet the requirements. Max, I know I didn't mention you earlier, but I feel safe in saying that your application would definitely be worth SOE reviewing
