Thread: brawling 4?! I know...
I got brawler IV by taking on missions from both Imps and Rebels, as well as "roadkilling" creatures and sometimes doing animal missions when I get bored. But in my personal experience faction missions r the best cuz they r easy for bare hands and they pay well (and when u attack the lair, mobs dont' spawn). So u get rich and get skills at the same time.
I mainly just spams unarmedhit 1 or unarmedstun 1 on mobs like mad (just make sure u bring stimpacks and if u r losing, put out ur good pistol and finish them
Creature mobs that white/yellow con r the best for unarmedstun + unarmedhit spam for experience (eopie, syuk, cu pa, etc (on tatooine). Human mobs however r a lot more dangerous at yellow con - but human mobs u don't need to yellow con much anyways cuz human mobs generally give higher experience. Green, light blue or blue con mobs usually get killed by continous unarmedstun or unarmedhit in within 3 hits.
In fact I prefer killing human mobs such as thugs and jawas as they r both easier and they gives items and money (items is valuable - u need to save up the locked containers for slicing training once u get there, and slice II u can use the junk weapons u saved up to train up u slicing).
I just became a Smuggler literally minutes ago..Finishing up Brawler 4 yesterday was some of the worst game play for me yet..My 2 credits of advice are this (If you are on Tatooine..) go for the blue-cons. The need to recover & chance to be killed will be less. I killed Sevorts, Dunas, & Grogs.
But here is my spin on it..Going to the mission terminal really sucks. Yes you get money. But thats not the issue. I am in Anchorhead and notice as I ran to Wayfar that around the 1000-1200 meter mark all the way to Wayfar the size of Lairs got really big
These big lairs..full of Grogs..were great. These superlairs had 5-7 outside when I approached and had a total of 40-50 in the whole thing. Good Luck
Let me give the aspiring Smuggler a good tip. You generally, without any VK's, hit for 60ish damage at a not-great speed, prolly around a little over3. If you get yourself a kickass VK with a low speed and high damage, and get it sliced by someone of our ilk, then you're talking business. Keep reading...YES, the damage stats are reduced because you don't have the cert for VK's- but I'll let you in on a secret: I was also caught working on Master Unarmed when the patch happened and nerfed my VK's. However, I did some experimenting. Damage WITHOUT VK's and WITH VK's was about the same (as the non-cert reduces their damage, so it makes it essentially normal dmg)...the major difference was that the speed with VK's was about 1.8, and without was about 3+. MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! So my advice -stick with those VK's and you better have some good speed with 'em...it'll help out bigtime as you'll do more damage-per-second with them. Try it and trust me.

I had a thread JUSY like this a week or so again, and my friend...it was actually...very easy ![]()
When people told me what to do I was like "yea, right, what I need is GIANT MASSIVE 1-hit KO exp!" but as unarmed, that=not easy!
So, I went to my house on Correllia which is on an Island near Coronet...I realised there were MILLIONS of different yellow dark-blue mobs! so I decided "why not?' and I started killing em...they never DB so your safe....
After about an hour or so I had over 30k exp...after a few hours I was done and got the 50k pistol A LOT quicker the same way ![]()
So, yay! I'm a smuggler! And YOU could be too! just do what I did ![]()
Hope this helped
To be honest, the fastest system I have come up with for making that annoying Unarmed XP has been to go to Tatooine, pick a less populated city, and just run the perimeter over and over. weak, low-level MOBs spawn there in packs of 8-12 at a time. Because Unarmed takes longer to do than Pistol, the spawn rate is about the same as your kill rate, so you can just keep clocking around in a circle. At Unarmed III I am making a whopping 51-79 XP per MOB, but what I am losing per enemy I am making up in volume, and in the fact that they hit for almost no damage, so I have little downtime. I'd also suggest buying Novice Medic and grabbing some Stim-B's off of the bazaar.
Here's one more tip. The damage increase between Unarmed II and Unarmed III (or for that matter Unarmed I and Unarmed III) is almost worthless. So DON'T buy your new skill as soon as you can. For example, when you get the 15,000 XP you need for Unarmed III, keep hunting. The game will cap you at 30,000 XP. But the thing is, once you buy your next skill, you get LESS XP for every MOB you kill. So by waiting, you are able to make almost double XP on those low level MOBs for a while.
20K unarmed to go!
Gads 70k is a climb with no knuks...I had VK's for only one day, then we lost em. Only made me aware of what i lost ![]()
I have been taking faction missions to try and find containers (only one container in hand after countless mission) and killing any blue cons enroute. On Corellia I go for gubbers and the meatlumps. I can kill them in 2-3 unarmedhit1's. Hitting for 140-160 per swing. Lose very little on em and can just lap around cornet killin if in a grind state of mind. I hope to be done with it tonight or tomorrow.
Sad that i can one shot these things with my pistol.
I swore if I ever got Unarmed IV out of the way, you'd never again see me without a gun in my hand. Tatooine did it for me also, Kreetles, Gorgs and Eopies. Not a lot of xp each, but you can kill a bunch of them without getting incapped and they spawn like crazy. Taking a big group to Dathomir and having them let you kill the Baz Nitch lair to get you a massive amount of xp quickly works too, but that's a place that's not for the faint of heart. Stay away from the Tusken base trying to get unarmed XP, too often you'll get one or 2 shots in and the shooters have blown it away and you get little or no xp.
As hard as getting Unarmed IV is, if they'd left the Business IV requirement in, you'd see VERY few smugglers. Personally I think Business IV should be a requirement for both the Smuggler and Bounty Hunter Professions. After all, we're supposed to be the professions that care a lot about money.

This was the best freaking advice I got on Unarmed hunting. The bleedshot really helped and was the only way I could fight whites without resting most the night. The best grind i found was doing Aggressive Giant Gubbers, still not as fast as pistol was...but gads was it better than grinding blues.
