Can you relate ANY sort of interactions you've had with anyone at SOE about the current state/plan for Smuggler? Heck, even posting the out-of-office autoreply from an e-mail you sent might make us feel better just knowing they gave you a valid e-mail to send to...


And I would argue EVERY other profession can do their namesake (except Commando, but they at least get big cool toys to play with). Shipwrights build ships. Pistoleers use pistols. Squad Leaders lead squads. Creature Handlers handle creatures. Rangers range. The only "Smuggling" I did was avoiding scans--until I got to Warrant Officer II, when there was no need for smuggling ability at all to avoid Imperial scans (by far the most common sort).


All they would really have to do is allow Smugglers special version of Delivery missions in which we can slice the containers to steal a bit of spice or slicing components, and have the chance that our tampering is found out and a bounty called (or bounties for failure), and then we hit the terminals like Jedi. That all uses existing game mechanics, wouldn't be hard. (But still leaves things unaddressed, like the fact that we are CRAFTING spice or that our unarmed prereq has no USE in the profession).

one idea for space smuugling, not sure if it addressed yet is this.


single player ships a cargo hold inside a cargo hold.


for POB's hidden cubbys scattered around the ship that only smugglers can use.


allows for smuggler action and roleplay in space. like all of a sudden having a enemy enter your POB if thier scans detect foul play?
