Seems to me we're going backwards in time, not forwards.
Seems like it is out of the scope of the rest of the game, unless you like calling a Jedi battle a GCW fight.
Well, I've not learned anything new from reading this transcript, but I DO appreciate you posting it, Wes.
In the "For What It's Worth" category, perhaps you could encourage LucasArts (via Julio?) to hold another chat next week to discuss the future of this game. I say LucasArts because they clearly are directing the development of the game, not SOE.
This was a sad, choreographed event -- these statements were obviously canned (c'mon -- they are advertising copy!):
(Shadowbrak) ... It is the key turning point in Episode III where Obi-Wan and Anakin fought their famous final battle. But questions remain, what was going on there and why were they there... Find out in Trials of Obi-Wan!
(juliot) Look forward to in depth Star Wars story lines on the planet Mustafar, the content in tailored to a directed immersive Star Wars experience.
How immersive is it going to be to go to a planet and enjoy a "directed immersive Star Wars experience" that was chosen for development merely to coincide with George Lucas' current marketing needs (the release of his DVD featuring the same planet). Not to mentionthat is not within the timeline on the box. Where a blue-glowy Obi-wan is giving quests to every Tom, D!ck and Harry and Jedi outnumber non-Jedi? Where the Lava Lamp is a quest reward? Oh man, I better stop here.
(Edit: Oh, for god's sake -- I can'twrite the name "D!ck?" As in Richard? LOL!)
I bought Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided to play in the Star Wars universe as a Smuggler during the timeline stated on the box. So far, LucasArts and SOE have failed to deliver on either of those things.
I can't smuggle. My partner can't smuggle. I can't help my partner smuggle. LucasArts/SOE introduced an uncontrolled Alpha class into this MMORPG. Now they (Jedi) have overrun the universe and there are only supposed to be a handful of them in existence. There is no Galactic Civil War (there appears to be a Jedi war, however) -- I know *I* don't feel the effects of a war on my daily existence in the SWG world.
Slowly, they have nerfed entertainers and crafters. They have dumbed down the graphics. There is no "Elder Game" -- soon, those who remain will go Jedi out of boredom or to be competitive in game (PVP, but also PVE!) All who remain will be Jedi.
I keep thinking my capacity for disappointment in LucasArts and SOE regarding the development of this gameand their ability to communicate has been maxed out. But I guess hope springs eternal in a Smuggler's breast -- because once again, I am seriously disappointed.

You need a hug, LM. /hug
Whatever you decide to do in relationship to this game, know that you rock and the things you add around here are priceless.

It gets better after you quit. When you get around to a place in your life when you feel like quiting, I'm sure you'll feel lighter after the baggage has been dropped.
It's a lot like dying. Some people die quiet, happy deaths. Some people go out in a violent, bloody rage. Some die from a slow death like cancer. I had cancer. It, Jedi in the GCW and watching my profession's content-development time go to Jedi and Jedi-centric content, slowly ate my resolve to keep playing, let off for a bit, then a huge kick called Trials of Obi-Wan sealed the deal. Sure, some might find the process a challenge, but it sure does feel good after you are dead. You drop the worn out, physical-body clothes you've been wearing and you feel light and free. It's kinda funny, but you can really see your whole SWG life from a higher perspective. I saw me putting up with a lot of bullcrap, and knowing this makes me feel very, very good knowing that I'm gone from it.
You should really join the other place where fallen smugglers go. You can find a link to it in some peoples' sigs and icon boxes.
Yeesh... what a bunch of crap.
And not one word on Smugglers. Though I'm not really surprised. ![]()

(Not really, no)

Personally, I think the person in charge of picking the questions needs a good hard prod up the backside from a heavily shined boot; for some reason questions that were answered kept being repeated (and it's not as if there weren't a wide variety to choose from). Ah well, here's the log:

(Brannoc) *kesosip-icie* Why choose mustafar as the new planet for the TOW expansion, when players have been asking for Hoth or bespin for some time now, these two planets would fit in well with the timeline taking place durring the GCW not the clone wars?
(Rogue_5) Great question. We like those planets too and there has been a lot of discussion about them. However, there has been a lot of interest in Mustafar coming from the marketing department of LAand we were basically told to better make an expansion to increase DVD sales numbers or else.

worthless. pathetic. absolute crap. waste of time. why even bother devs?
what was the crap about "Mustafar is now actually an infamous planet". bull. no one gives a crap about it. we would much rather have hoth or bespin or some planet people have been interested in for DECADES rather than one that 12 year olds think is cool since the latest mediocre movie came out.
you people need to take your heads out of your butts and listen to your actual players. not the l33t whiners who you keep designing this game around. fools.
i don't usually rant like this, but this worthless "chat" was just going to far.
