Thread: The *$% You have to put up with sometimes!
for me it depends almost entirely on the customer. if they are courteous and conduct themselves and the transaction in a cordial manner, they usually get the price of 5k. however the guy that this thread features, he would be charged 10k. i dont advertise prices, but when people ask i say 10k. then the good customers get the surprise of only being charges 5k per slice. but i play on wanderhome, 9k sounds fine for a larger server, like bria, ahazi, bloodfin, and tarq

I think 9k is a bit much for a weapon slice. Anyone else?

Out of curiosity, I was considering getting into the fp selling business. How much funds would you recommend having as a base starting point?
Me? In time of l33td00derz pvp PWNz00rz? 2 Weeks.
- The Customer may probably be watching his current level of faction, and say "Thanks" or "Okay, stop.", or something along those lines when he hits the exact amount he needs, leaving any remaining bank money as extra he may not have thought of.
- The Customer may wait untill you finish up and stop delegating, and while he has some extra, he still payed for it, and you profitted from it.
Either way, you make a little extra cash, and with the customer not knowing this, if you're lucky, he may tip you, too. ![]()

Technically, you don't need any money before a customer comes to you to buy faction; however, you do need them to pay up front for the faction(both base cost and the profit).
Then, its a wise idea to devide what your profit is from what you're using to buy the faction, by going to a bank terminal, and moving your profit(and any money youmayalready have) to your cash, keeping the amount you'll actually spend on faction in your bank. When you go to the recruiter and start buying, he'll debit from your bank first. This way, you can tell when you're reaching your mark of the amount of faction you need to purchase.
Also keep in mind you'll need to buy roughly 18% more faction(as a full Colonel) than the customer actually wants, due to the fact you'll lose 18% over what you delegate to the customer. While I'm sure if you want to sit down and do the math for Rebels to include the 10% CoA faction bonus, that you can figure out the exact amount of faction to buy, leaving your customer with no extra than what he wanted, there's more of an incentive not to, for two simple facts.

Well...the great thing about the new system is, if you've got creds onhand, you can go ahead and cap yourself out. You need around 4.8 mil as an Imp, and around 4.2 mil as a Rebel. Then, it's just a matter of a simple meet and swap. No more having to keep track of your bank balance and hoping you /dump you macro in time.
And, even if the customer needs more than 51k FP (the max amount a "capped" Colonel can delegate), it still only takes about 3 minutes to cap out again, so I wouldn't even bother running a transfer macro. I'd /del the 51k, then buy up to my cap again and /del another large chunk.
I love this new system!!

People like this are why I have my pricing policy. The more trouble they give me, the more whatever I do will cost them.
"But you can still make a profit at 120."
"Now its 140."
"But you just said 130..."
"And your whining is raising the price each time."
"But you *can* still make a profit for 120."
"155."
"Why!?!1"
"Because you're being annoying. 165."
And so on. Eventually, they get the idea and shut the hell up or payand swallow the costs. Either way, I'm good.

That's my policy exactly!!
Not just with faction points, but with any Smuggler activity - any sign of haggling downwards and the price jumps up. If they stop asking for a bargain after the first warning and accept the price and are nice - I drop the price back down to the original level. ![]()
