They promised slicing loot drops in smuggler missions? Where was that?

While they're at it, it'd be good if GM could fix the Critical slice. It sounds really interesting.. but doesn't do a whole lot.

Technically, it should work correctly if applied like this

874 * 1.02 = 891 (First 2% Slice)

891 * 1.02 = 908 (Second 2% Slice; Totals 4%)

908 * 1.04 = 944 (Final 4% Slice; Totals 8%)

So, somehow I managed to get less than a 1% slice on my final slice

874* 1.08= 943.92

The slice seems allways to depend on the unsliced value

I think we're looking at two caps here... Slicing caps and construction caps. I believe they are different.

Posted o the WS boards:

I built a Featherweight to take an 8% damage slice to get to max with 69 SAC. I applied my Illegal Booster Core to a 919 max damage Featherweight and it turned out at 935 max damage. Not exactly a 4% increase... hmmm.

Next I applied a Illegal Booster Core to a 70 SAC High Capacity Scatter (same scenario) and it went from 893 to 916.

We should start a thread with the slicing caps.

I read in a separate thread that damage slices seem to work off the weapon's minimum damage rather than the maximum. For example, if you had a weapon which was 300-600 damage and put an 8% damage slice on it, the final result would be 8% of 300 (or 24) added to both values, for a final damage range of 324-624.

Run your numbers again with that information and see if it adds up.

Right on.

Gotta try maxing damage again... lol.

Min damage on the Featherweight was 365 * .04 = 14.6 + 919 = 933.6

I think you're 100% correct Accamim. This can be proven by adding a damage powerup to a weapon which brings it within 20-30 damage of its crafted weapon cap. You will receive a message upon attempting a damage slice that the max damage of the weapon has already been exceeded and cannot be increased.

For example, in further testing I crafted a pistol that after pup'd had 920 max damage. It's crafted damage cap was over 940, so a 2% damage slice should not have been a problem, but I received a message saying I could not slice the item because it's damage had exceeded the cap...

in short... if this isn't addressed damage slices will only be useful on mid level to lower-end weapons... and that particular market of people will likely not be bringing us any of these high-level slicing components, or pay us anything substantial for providing them... especially considering they could just purchase a weapon that was crafted with higher stats than we can ever produce.

This takes the 'remove the cap' for slicing hopes to a whooole different level
