Why do I have this nagging feeling that this is the DE revamp all over again?


(or at least experiencing many of the same problems that were experienced back in 2003).

thank you Wes for your work to bring us this communication.

With it said that these Ideas are still in Concept, I ask you to please take all the point-by-point reviews of thier answers, roll them up, and beat the devs over the head with them repeatedly until they understand what OUR concept of the system is vs. thiers, and why ours is better.

So how about the Dev's growing some ***** and coming in here and once and for all making a no BS, no double talk, no sidestep post and tell us WTH they are planning on doing with our profession for once?


I can understand an MMO being in a constent state for work but c'mon and cut the crap. 2 and a half years and they are now sitting with 3 different professions that they want to redo with one of them NEVER working like it was advertised and another that they are TOTALLY reworking? This is amature work at best....

It seems most of the stuff is done on a whim anyway. Thus, just like many of us who have been through all the battles in this giant war have said, you have to beleive it when you see it. Once it goes to In Developement, then we can institute change, otherwise we get craptastic answers like the ones we got. No suprise.


I commend you Wes for continueing to take the high road that not many of are willing to do.






Good point. Creature Handler and SL appeared out of nowhere, and Ranger is straight 'in development'.



Also, if the 'in concept' is something we shouldn't take seriously, why have tiggs respond to them at all?

Heh...what? Really?

I really hope they understand we're tired of getting in-concept threads that read like they 'cherry picked' the least interesting parts of what we actually come up with for a revamp. You'd honestly think that after the little bit of work they've put into each of these 'in concepts' what 3-4 times now? If they conglomerated that into one SOLID effort, used our ideas, we'd all be shatting ourselves with goddamn glee right now and not trashing the ever living dog crap out of them.

It still just boggles the mind why they are asking yet again for IC ideas and what we would like to see.

Do they think that just because a now former employee (GreenMarine) came up with and collated player ideas over a year ago that we no longer want anything that was discussed?
Or is it that it is a former employee's ideas that bothers them?
I know employees come and go, but what's the deal here?
Can they not accept the work that's already been done?
Do they resent the fact that they don't get to spend (waste) lots of time coming up with their own ideas and must use someone elses? (Or a majority of)
Did they just toss out all the old research and concepts they did previously?

I just fail to comprehend how we can still be IC after 2 years.
I've been following this debate since the IC post was made a couple of weeks ago, but I am just at a complete loss for words now.
Totally flabbergasted.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

This is pretty much a dead-onreflection of my own sentiments. When you cut through it all, this is the part that is troubling me the most...even more sothan the 2-years of waiting (I still manage to find a way to play and have fun regardless), I am struck by the incongruity of the thought process which we are getting a glimpse of. Thank you forwriting this in such a clear and mature fashion!

How much can they talk about our revamp? Do they not have ideas for the revamp? Have we not been posting ideas for a revamp? Are they looking for ideas? They could read the forums.


Are they still siting there trying to come up with ideas for the revamp?

My sentiments exactly. Wes, I sincerely appreciate clarification on the IC items.....but why isn't a DEV coming in here to say all this to our "face". I can clearly recall other professions having trouble or rage at some of there changes and DEV poppin in to answer or clarify things (sometimes several times in a post).


I think itis a clear lack of respect to us and shows their feelings towards us and our concerns.


Wes, hats off to you. I may not agree with all your opinions or methods of handlings situations but you have a true gut of iron to put up with all the garbage that SOE has been feeding you.
