Thread: Finally, Bomb Droid inputs compiled for the FAQ
I've incapped unbuffed players with one blast a few times. If you shoot them first you get points for the kill. I like /lowblow /panicshot /peace them as the droid heads towards them, running along beside me. I've killed commandos and soldiers many times this way, profs that usually pwn us. With bomb droids you can really bring an art to dirty fighting, just be prepared for hate tells after.
It takes practice, and practice takes creds. Its not easy to get timing right the first time, and at an average of 5k a pop, not cheap to learn.
If you find a crate of 5 for 50k buy it. 5k each is a good deal. I love them especially for dealing with random punks challenging duels. There so unexpected and relatively unknown to many, some ppl are like.. wt-f just happened? how the hell did i get pwned by a smug??
On Valcyn I seen these R2 bomb droids called "Jedi Go Booms" with a detonation of 65. 50k each, I'm saving up for a few. I have a feeling that should incap a few buffed players.

So there is no limit to the amount of bomb droids you can have? Can you only have one out at a time?
Only one out yea. But if there a deed in your inventory they can be called while in combat but if you store them to your datapad they can't be called in combat. So you can have like 50 deeds or w/e in your inventory, but only call one at a time, but once it blows up can call another, i think.

No you can't /det while FD'd but you can call whiled FD'd it only if its in your inventory. I did that one time and it scared off a TKA coming into to blackbar me until another allied TKA took him over, allowing me to get up. He got scared when it appeared by my FD'd body and ran away (I guess he didnt know I couldnt detonate it until I stood) because 5 minutes before I had cut his buffed ham in half with a previous one.
I'ma DE on Corbantis and I make MSE and R3 versions of these. I hear the mse's are ok in PvP, but work really well against those hard to kill pets (AT-ST's). I'd be interested in any combat info anyone can get on these. You should send it to Drashkk or TheRealTK421's way. I'd like to be able to give my customers info on this, but of course like most of the droids I make I can't actually "use" them to any effect.

65? Are you sure that wasn't 56? From what I've seen the max on these module (theortical) is 10. In an R2(max 5) that would be 50. I make R3's with 54, and I've heard as high as 59 being made. If you see higher than that then I would suggest paying the price, as they'd be worth a goldmine to a BH with a 250k mission. It could also be an old bug that they fixed that allowed you to stack modules.
There's also an equation to figure out the damage on there. 150xdetonation rating for min. 200xdetonation rating for max. Then apply pvp 75%, and armor, and you should have your damage range on these suckers.

Finally got around to trying this last night...pretty cool, but I have a question.
I had 10 deeds in my inventory for these det droids...that works out better for me to be able to call it while in combat, rather than try to call it from your datapad and have it follow you everywhere until you're ready for a fight. The only problem I had when calling it from a deed is that the droid was not trained on any commands...
So I had to use the deed to call the droid, then talk to the droid and teach it the Follow Target command, then tell the droid to follow, then give the detonate command. Is all of that reallyneccessary? It worked OK while I was testing it out on an NPC, but I can't imagine pulling a droid out and trying to teach it commands while Im in the middle of a pvp fight.
They got default commands. Complete words like "store", "group" and "follow".
