Well I usually let my customers decide what my services are worth, min I'll get is 100 per % tho Ill usually get 5-10k.. If pushed I'll say about 5k a slice. I has been given anything from 20k (skinflint) to 100k (very grateful customer)for slicing a full set of comp.
Also it depends on what level of gear I'm slicing, if its a crappy pistol or rifle I'll sometimes do it free and hope I'll get some return business out of it. I often do too!

I would say consider the client first:
(1) "Poor" Newbie's you wanna charge much less because often they have little cash, and later on they can grow up to be really good customers if you take the extra time and explain things to them.
(2) First Time Customers usually get a lower rate than my regulars. Well this is at least what I tell them
.
(3) Regulars usually bring me bulk items so I cut them a slight deal but I have to eat.
(4) "Abusive Custmers" /add ignore...you don't have to take that crap. Ignorance is no excuse for abuse.

This one guy walks up to me, has a novice pikeman title, asks me to slice his lance. I said ok, I jus saw him blow 25k on a doc buff, so i said 6k. He pays me when he hands me the item (to my surprise, not the smartest move on his part) and I begin my chant to the slicing gods. I get a 31% speed. I thought wow, cause I know for a pikeman that's really what they need. This dude goes "What?? only 30%?? I play on bria and I get my stuff sliced between 50-70%!
At this point, I'm like oh snap not again.... The dude demands his money back... And this was all before I gave the pike back to him. I was half tempted to delete it or walk off, but I jus handed it back to him and helped the next person in line... He stood there yelling at the people not to have me slice for them, that I suck as a smuggler.... yatta yatta...
Then someone used one of those covert scanners (he was reb) and there were a bunch of overt imps in the area...
Priceless.

I just charge what they feel the slice is worth.
I do get some that are cheap and if too cheap I never slice for them again but I actually make more overall if I do it this way there are more people that are generous than cheap.

I've grown to despise Slicing in its current form. Therefore, when I do get cornered for Slicing (usually after I log in and haven't taken the time to make sure I'm /anon and untagged, or if I am anon but tagged and riding through Cnet), my price is 10k per item.
If they accept that's great, if they choose to wait on the next sucker to come along, that's fine to.
What I absolutely HATE are the idiots who not only don't like the price, but then proceed to lecture me on why my prices are too high. They usually base this on 2 arguments:
1) "Back when I was a Smuggler..."
or...
2) "I know another guy who..."
Either one of them usually elicits a smart-ass remark from me and a quick /addignore Idiot.
My TIME is worth 10k per slice. If people don't like it, they can wait for the next guy who's time is worth less to them.
This is when you say:
1. So go grind it out again and slice your own stuff.
2. Oh great then you can go find his to slice your stuff.
Things like this just tick me off. I mean I took 7 months to Master instead of grinding out Smuggler. I play a basically broken profession day after day that takes up skills points and these idiots who"use to be a smuggler" but dropped it for whatever reason expect us to charge less. Dude you want a cheap slice..you should have kept smuggler and sliced it yourself.

Now I harn't played in a few months. (working for ITT in the "stan") but on lowca, I would have people pay what ever the slice was worth to them. Yes I had a few people that underpaid me (20k) for a full comp suit) but I also had people give me 30-50k for +30% slices on one thing. So it all worked out normaly made 200k an hour. Normal got some one that would get all mad because their geo only got a 20% damage slice, I'd tell them it better then nothing.....
