I have an old Star Wars fan magazine that listed all the guns from the first movie and what they came from. Han's gun is a modified Mauser Broomhandle pistol. The most interesting one was Leia's is an unmodified target pistol. Appropriately, the big stormie blasters are German MG39 and MG42 machine guns. The short blaster is a British Sterling SMG, I believe. I'll try and find the magazine and scan the picts if anyone's interested. Another interesting tidbit is Luke's first lightsaber is a lightly modified flash for a Graphlex 4x5 press camera, which you can find on ebay pretty frequently.

Well the originals were made from real WWII guns. If you notice... that particular gun is essentially the same one he used in Indiana Jones.

'Cause Han's a bit of a show-off, and a slanted scope is more fancy.

The scope is mounted at an angle so that gun will fit in a holster without bumping into the dashboard of the "Falcon"
