That thing breaks down every month it seems. Luckily most of the problem I can fix myself. Here is a short list of what has gone wrong in the past 2 years or so. The only problem I have not fixed in this list is the valve cover gasket replacement. Some guy wanted like 20 bucks to replace it for me in the parking lot of Auto Zone.

Starter Replacement
Starter Relay Switch Failure (two times)
Alternator Seizure
New exhaust system
Manifold and gasket replacement
Valve cover gasket replacement
Vacuum system tubes falling off
Water pump failure
Thermostat replacement
Stop light switch failure
Numerous Power drains due to bad wires
New battery
And a whole list of other numerous times I had to troubleshoot it for wiring and other problems.


My jeep has no working gas, engine temperature, or alternator guages. It has run out of gas during standstill Atlanta traffic (thought I could make it).

I have fixed more electrical problems than you can imagine. When I bought it half of the lights worked on it.

I pressure washed, acid treated, primered, painted, and put a rubberized undercoating on its underside. It is still colored primer on the body - school makes it hard to find time to fix it.

Good car... well.. not really...

Sounds like my first 'vette.

2000 Navy Blue coupe. Gorgeous color. Had it 18 months, and was in the dealership for something wrong with it 18 different occasions. When the muffler fell off on the way to a family reunion 500 miles away (honest to God, while moving 60+ miles an hour at night in a downpour on interstate 80 in western PA) I knew it was time to pull the plug on this piece of devil spawned automotive horsedroppings.

And, true to smuggler form, I now have 2 vettes in the garage - a 2003 and a '71 stingray convertible. Glutton for punishment.
