I don't think it tastes like chicken.. The whining makes it taste like Playdough.

Actually I have no idea if you even see that the effect took place in combat spam. And With noone being able to afford high level Armor slices I don't know someone who might have an armor to try it.
Only a developer could answer that because even the most verbose Combat Spam version does not offer enough information.

hmm its tricky to decide whether i should bother hardening my armour. I usually go with impact deflection to make it last longer, but if hardening doesn't totally trash it i think it would be a good one to go for.

*giggles at name of post* try thinking about Natalie Portman, should get you enough hardening to defend against anything

From the description it doesn't sound like it adds any additional damage to the armor. I'm thinking that if it did cause the armor to wear out faster, the desription would mention it. But, as had been said, I don't think anyone has tested that.

If you want to invest looted components I'd go for impact defection. That has an impact that you can actually see

*wince*
To try and answer the original question, I believe the idea is that the damage gets halved, and poofs. It should not cause any extra decay to the armor. That'd kind of defeat the purpose of this slice.
The reason this slice does not seem to be very popular right now is the ridiculously low chance of it actually working. 1%-3% just isn't enough.
When they originally put in the Critical Hit slice, it had the same low percentages, and was tweaked to a max of 10% before going live. Somehow, the harderning slice missed the same tweak and is still stuck at the near usless 3% max.

where do you loot powered motivators from anyway? I've looked at the FAQ and they're not mentioned. Or are they mentioned under the name of "level 4 armour slice pieces" from that lvl 5 merc ship in dantooine
