So, in other words, let's just continue to take it up the A.. You know, I'm really not surprised. No wonder we've been getting kicked around so much. You say time to get real. What do you suggest then?

we definately could make prices so unbearably high that we sap the economies. only problem we run into is that there are a lot of weaponsmiths and armorsmiths who have their own smuggler toon or a guildie slice for them.

Don't get me wrong, bud. If you think this is the way to go, I say go for it. I think you're deluding yourself if you think it's going to make a difference, though. Most of the good AS and WS on my server either have Smuggler alts or they're Smugglers, too. They sure as heck ain't gonna stop making money over this FD nerf. And the vast majority of the players buy their armor and weapons pre-sliced.
I've been a Master Smuggler since the original beta. I keep my Master Smuggler tag up all the time. I hang around Coronet Starport a lot doing trades with people or just generally goofing around. And in the last month, I've recieved exactly two requests for slicing. I don't even carry slicing tools anymore because it's stupid to waste inventory space for something I don't use anymore. Hell, I can't even remember the last time someone wanted to buy Spice. Who's going to be affected if I suddenly decide not to offer my services to other people? Nobody.
Even if you got every Smuggler here on the forums to join your crusade, it's still only a very small percentage of the in-game Smugglers because most of them don't read these forums.

I'd join you in a massive walkout.
Probably wouldn't work though.
Myguild mates would probably understand and support me.
but....
There are too many Armor and Weapons Smiths who would continue to slice their own. I would if I was an AS orWS and had slicing skills.
A couple additional thoughts
If slced items are no longer allowed to be placed on vendors will thereBE a demand for sliced items.
Probably but....
If the number of available sliced items is reduced to what WS and AS can carry aroundthen the no contriban rule is in effect; rendering our only viable skill moot;
andthen Smugglers are no longer needed.
Does this make senseto anyone?

For the record ...
I have a Master Weaponsmith Alt and have always done my own slicing. But the weaponsmith is the alt 
... the smuggler wears the pants in this family, and I would gladly use my weaponsmith (and his lack of sliced weapons) to spread the smuggler message tohis customers ...

(My invnetory is gone and actually so are most of my customers - all moved to WoW).
It's the smuggler that (painfully) keeps me paying for my SWG accounts even though I dont really play it lately. When I'm on, I'll have my walk-out auto-response macro'd and ready to go. If I actually logon the Weaponsmith he will tell his customers he is out of the business pending smuggler-justice ...
I pretty much left SWG because it's a ghost town, my friends list is all empty (moved to WoW), and most of my customers are gone, most everything is unbalanced and broke - and I'm sick of logging in just to pay maintenance.... but however little my limited involvement may help, I'm with you.
Anyway, I just thought I'd point out that some of us Weaponsmith/Smuggler-Alts .... are actually Smuggler/Weaponsmith-Alt and would in fact be willing to sacrifice some business if it had a meaningful chance at getting some smuggler attention.

Last night I got 3 requests for a slice andall I said was "Im not Slicing atm".Idont knowifyour ideawill work or not but for me personally I'm not slicing of selling FP until we get a re-vamp or at the least some real information on where we statnd as a profession in this game. With that said you have my support.

That's what I've been doing to make my money. I've been flying in space every night for about 90 minutes each night, and I've made probably close to 8 million in about a month and a half. I've currently got 2 million on my credit chip, and am going for 3.
I don't NEED the ground game to make money. But I like hunting all the same. Its still fun for me. But slicing and selling spices haven't made me money in a LONG time.

For the last 6 months my bio has stated:
I will not slice for you, I am not a slice monkey
I will not sell you faction, I am neutral
I will not sell you spice, I am not a drug dealer
I am a Smuggler, I would like to Smuggle.
Any one asks for something, I tell them to read my bio.
Generally, most people understand and are supportive.

What we could do os only slice for ourselves. I mean its the only thing we still have why not keep it to our selves?
Yeah I know it wont work, folks will just make smuggler alts like they make entertainer alts now.
