i lost hope a long time ago, but i am to lazy and hate grinding so i'm not gona drop smuggler. i'll just pretent i have like 70 fewer skill points than everyone else.

If I had enough SP I'd think about it.
The weighing factor is the thought that all the devs might not be Jedi and I wouldn't be infectiong tehm.
I will give this course of action some additional thought.

I lost my "passion" for Smuggler, the game mechanics at least,long ago.
Now I merely watch changes come and go that take tiny slivers of meaning and usefullness from my profession. Even FD, it's abuse neccissating a change, is little more than another nail in the coffin, both from a communication perspective and from the perspective of the profession's viability. Taken alone, it is a needed change. Taken as part of the string of changes that have lessened our usefulness, it is a solid blow.
I do add my opinion to threads from time to time, out of some sort of superstition I suspect, as though that one voice might have weight. But on the whole the experiance of being a Smuggler has resulted in a ratherjaded outlook on MMOs in general.
Now I look to things that dont change as improvements. The GCW revamp may not have anything directly for us, but at least it didnt take out FP sales, for example. A sad idea indeed when the lack of change is the only welcoming news.
We did get our bone recently, however, a shiny toy to distract, a long awaited alteration to buying FP. That has helped immensly, but only in comparison to all that came before it. When all you earn is $3 a week, a 10 cent raise is worth celebrating, so to speak.

I am not in the least surprised. I took down my smuggler title a few weeks ago because I was done PRETENDING to be a smuggler while selling drugs and slicing.
I really don't think SOE has any serious intention of revamping us such that we actually have meaningful smuggling content. Their track-record has shown this to date.
I'm certain that there will be a endless line of priorities after the CU that will preclude anything meaningful for Smugglers.

Apparently, the newest info is that we're after the CURB. If we're not first, then that'll be it for me.

Thats how I feel about the whole thing;I really cant justify paying a monthly subscription for something that I dont play. I have roleplayed for 2 years...and well, sometimes you just want to "play" the game, instead of "creating" your own. They have my subscription until May, after that, i'll be saving 15 dollars a month.

A friend of mine just rerolled to another character....
I think i will just leave if things go further....
No communication... not a single lollipop.... nothing... Just 2 official words explaining us that we are just nerfed...
Like in a bad horror movie.... "The nerf came from under the swamp"... The sorry of a ugly nerf that came just to kill a bunch of smuggler friend having good time camping around the swamp...
No one knows where it come from
No one knows why the thing attacked the smugglers...
All we can say, is that the script tell us to divide in smaller groups and investigate the swamp...
And when we'll be only 2 left, we'll make 2 groups of 1....
And when there will be no more smugglers, maye things will change...
Chefs will make spices and WS/AS will slices their own production....
And for HQ destruction, someone will gimp himself in order to be able to slice a terminal... And sometimes forced to reach slice 4 in order to restock molecular clamps.... Or maybe they will attach a smuggler in a house's basement to make him craft clamps....

Exactly how i feel, i deleted my first character to make a human smuggler a few days after i started playing, and i've been a smuggler ever since, i really wish i could get myself to give up smuggler, its a waste of skillpoints, as i don't slice for people, sell factionpoints or spices, and i rarely use pistols, even though i would love to, but they are not that good compaired to my melee skills.
I hope that the devs start fixing smuggler soon, nerfing the most neglected profession is just plain insane.

Well let me put it this way...
I lost enough that I don't really care if they ban me from the forums and even from the game.
They are in the wrong on the issue of communicating openly with us and I think they know it but simply find it expedient.

Now, I rely on the other professions I have to do anything in the game, as most of smuggler has become something out of a tortured nightmare of useless and broken skills. I have honestly thought about dropping what little smuggler I do have to get master doctor. And a month ago this thought would not have even entered my head as I was hell bent to keep what little smuggler I had, hoping that I would remaster when a revamp plan was announced.
I am utterly without hope at the moment, and am wondering if anyone else out there feels the same way? I mean - its going on 2 years of the game going live and we're in the worst shape we've ever been in. Nothing good has happened short of the faction point cap lifting, and that was done for the sake of the customers purchasing faction when the new GCW changes hit, not the smugglers; we were an accidental beneficiary.
So much for being positive, eh? How about this - I am positive we're going nowhere fast.
For me its really more of a personal, I'm a consumer and I want my monies worth thing that keeps me going.....

I've given up all hope. I don't even like to read our boards anymore. We have great suggestions and ideas. We try to temper our disgust with humor. We just get crapped on too much for me to really keep caring. I've seen the worst come out of our community lately...but I don't hold us to blame. As my daddy used to say..."Even a good dog will bite you if you kick him enough." I'm just so darned tired of being kicked. I could puke.
