I was thinking that as I typed the previous response...I'm gonna have to find an unsliced blaster...

I would, but I only have Slicing 1 atm. I'm working on Slicing 2, but don't have the cash to get enough containers to slice...spent my last little bit getting a crate of clamps...Going to be spamming in coronet (shudders) tonite...

From both an armorsmith and a smuggler, I would have to say that slicing is not causing armor to wear faster. I don't know if anybody has touched on this, but this *might* be behind the scenes work to rid the game of current high qual armor in preparation for the dreaded armor nerf. If you aren't familiar with the armor nerf rumor, check the armorsmith forums for more details on what we know about it so far.

I have never seen any actual proof of this...Powerups on the other hand cause you to tear up weapons quick

weapons also wear faster if you use powerups... its all sorts of weird as far as losing condition goes.

As a heavy power up junkie and specials spammer, ive noticed that my weapons wear alot faster spamming specials with a powerup than just spamming specials with a sliced weapon

From the testing I have done, it does not appear that slicing affects the decay rate (at least not directly or to a noticeable degree)
What does decay weapons like no ones business is the use of powerups and specials.
As to armor..i dunno...the theory i have seen that seems closest is that armor decays the amount NOT ABSORBED. I know for a fact it does not decay 1:1 on absorbed damage otherwise I would go through a full suit every few spawns of Nightsisters. hehe
