Eh.. Personaly I'm going to use the rebel ship for my Smuggling needs. It's cooler to decorate and I'll be slightly different from the rest of the Solo army.

what would be cool is if they allowed the yt-1300 to have hidden compartments and you can actually drop say a crate of weapons or what not into it. And give the possiblity of getting scanned in space and a chance to find your stash and create some kind of fix for the smuggler to get out of, either blasting his way out or JTL. I know this is a pipe dream because SOE doesnt think like this.

Does anyone know what the second multi player ship in the privateer line is?

There is no second ship. Unless they add it in after they close beta.

It's a cool ship, but it's only available to 1/3 of the pilot professions. Not to mention the fact thatthe ships weapons can only be fired when you haveother players manning the turrets. Apilot cannot fight alone in this ship.

Thank you for mentioning this. This issue is a very seriousto me, my whole future with SWG depends on it. I think we should make this a smuggler request. There as been tons of talk about forward firing weapons in the Ship issues forum, and so far no dev response. There were many very good compromises thought ofin those discussions. So hopefully this will be something that will be addressed in the future, there just needs to be a movement of people behind it, remember wookie armor.

Yhe but with wookiees they all protested in the starports. Now we have the soe ss squads forceably remove us if we try it.

CRAP!! I read about thisin the BETA forums, but never got to experience it in BETA myself.I was hoping they would fix that! In SW Lore, you CAN in fact pilot the YT-1300 alone. You'd just use the targeting computer, which admittedlyis far less accurate than gunners. My argument is, even if you only have a pilot flyingand onlyone gunner on one side of the ship (say, um HAN AND CHEWIE), couldn't your bogey just fly out of range of that one gun, and just concentrate fire on the side where the gunner can't hit you? So even if youjusthaveone gunner you can still be toast. This is bullcrap. This is abig dissapointment. Thanks SOE. This is a HUGE blow to the people who don't contstantly hang around with others. Now thatthere's agame where Ican fly a YT, I can't, because I can't do anything in it but stand inside it while it's moving. Yipp-frickin-ee. Continuity to the crapper.

What made the Falcon smuggler's ship wasn't the fact that it was a YT-1300. It was the fact that it was piloted by a smuggler. Peoplerelate smuggling with the YT-1300 because Han Solo flew it, though the only thing he smuggled in the movies were people.

And to be honest if there was a default 'smuggling ship' in the SW Universe, I doubt very seriously Han Solo would have had it. He won the Falconfrom Lando. And every portayal of Lando has been one that didn't follow the crowd. So Lando prolly wouldn't have had a YT-1300 laying about to lose

By "We" do you mean every single subscriber in Star-Wars Galaxies? Because there's nothing "Smuggler" about the YT.
In JTL, it's the cargo ship, not the Millenium Falcon. You can arm it up some, but don't expect to make any fast Kessel-runs.

Furthermore, it was a huge battle on the part of Freelance pilots just to keep it in the Nuetral tree. Every X-Wing and TIE-Fighter pilot was outraged that they couldn't someday buy a military-grade YT. Soapparently no one identifies it withprivateering scoundrels (and thereby smugglers).

JTL does little for any profession except Pilots and Shipwrights. Architects can make private ship construction stations. DEs can make flight computers/astromechs for ships. Artisans can make tools. The impact on the existing professions by JTL's release will be minimal.

And honestly, I prefer it like that.I'm earning my smuggler stripes now. Smuggling for me wouldn't be simple courier missions with a cargo labelled 'contraband' and NPCs dispatched at mission generation to kill me. Smuggling in space to me would be a mission requiring me to bribe/sneak/burn past a planet's law enforcement to deliver a cargo. Preferably sneak with consequences like building a reputation (and enduring more active pursuit) for burning past contraband scans. And an empty bank account for bribing past them.

JTL didn't spend anywhere near enough time in development, let alone beta, to add any substantial to any profession except Shipwright/Pilot. We'd prolly receive light fluff that would satisfy only as long as it took the novelty to wear off.

The main reason I want a YT is sadlybecause is the closest thing to a cargo ship in the game. It's a freighter. It looks awesome too, and to me it's an 'everyman' ship. Sure, the Falcon is awesome, no one can say the don't partially want a YT because they'd like it to be similar to the Falcon, but really, it's the only true ship that's neutral that has any kind of actual cargo carrying ability. I know they we can't REALLY carry cargo, but it seems like the only realisticallycommonship out there. Havingany one of theHutt Fighters brings forth the assumption you want to do fighting in space. While I know you need to utilize those to get UP to a YT, ultimately I want a YT because it seems the most neutral-esque commerical ship, which fits my character the best. I can't smuggle on it, and it won't be like the Falcon, but I don't give a Schmidt. 'I want that ship.'

Unfortunately, I identify more with Lando than Han. Which would mean the Lady Luck and I don't qualify for the veteran ship.
