It's considered armor, it can lower the HAM cost or increase the effectiveness. This is of arguable value though since a shield generator can get to 0 condition in one fight alone. Also, you can get a HAM reduction slice on a shield generator that has 0 HAM cost to begin with.
I assume this should be can't? Sorry about the nitpicking

Yes, my best/worse slice was 44% encumberance on a Prototype Imperial PSG

Actually, the sad part is that you actually can get an encumberance slice. But as the song goes..."nuthin' from nuthin' leaves nuthin'..."

If you're not even going to get Novice Pistoleer, then get a good FWG5 and either a really nice Scout or a really nice DL-44 Metal.
If you pick up just Novice Pistoleer then grab a DX2 and a Republic Blaster (to go with your FWG5 and Scout

The armor doesn't decay as part of feign death. As for the other part, unless someone wants to rewrite it I'm just inclined to let the detail slide till the combat upgrade. Everything will change.

What I meant is they should put in there that your armor will decay if your PVPing, FD andpeople keep shootingyou.

# The more skilled the Slicer, the better return you'll see. (See the average results below) The weapon is still able to be used with power-ups and repairable as normal.
# A sliced weapon will decay faster, but not horribly faster.
These 2 points are not true if we report to one of thunderheart's tuesday tips about weapons repairs. Where he told that sliced doesn't increase decay while using the weapon and that slicing does dracticly increase repair failures
But powerups do increase weapon decay

Reached slice 3 only with containers for a new smuggler toon since loot revamp
Still have some locked containers to reach slice 4
Let's sum it up
What i found frequently
CDEF weapons/survival knives/polearms
Clothings
Brocken stuff (hand held view screens, datapads, binoculars, etc)
Datadisks (rebel transmission x/x, encrypted datadisk, treasure maps
What i sometimes found
Attachements (clothing or armor)
Nothing
Locked containers
Funny cloths (like this hotpants with my guild's official colors ^^ odd and weird, but i couldn't stop laughing for 20 minuts after i saw this one )
What i rarely found
Skill moded cloths (crappy)
Skill moded weapons (like this marvelous survival knives, with a strenght 10 duration 30 poison health potency 2% uses 300)
What i never found
Crystals
Interessant attachements
Loot kit parts
Good skill moded cloths or weapons
Weapons other than basic ones
So locked containers = total crap junk items inside, and sometimes.... a real funny time.... Like ugly cloths, hell crap weapons, etc...

Somehow I am sure that when the time comes the changes will be made with glee and without much grumbling "grin"

Well, I actually hope there is some grumbling. Typing out a faq takes time away from playing the smuggler, which will hopefully become something exciting again
