- Smuggler's Surprise - "That YT only has two turrets" says your oponent, seconds before he's surprised by a blast froma 3rd mounted blaster operated by the gunner! Smugglers would be able to install a forward-firing weapon onto their POB vessels. The weapon would be useable by the gunner.
EDIT: This could also work vice-versa, converting unused slots into increased internal storage capacity, or, say, using that never used countermeasure slot to place a shielded hidden storage compartment...

Suggestion: Mods that add component slots should steal from internal space, reducing the total number of items that a POB can then contain. I'm thinking a Mass/space ratio, that allows a small "holdout" weapon to be hard mounted for a slight loss, or a Full-on Q-ship super heavy POB-only weapon installed that sucks up much of the internal capacity.Either way, the outward apparence of the weapon would definately need to be hardly noticable, representing the bulk of the added weapon being hidden within. Only a very close visual inspection by someone who knows the vehicles well, or an /inspect of the ship could reveal its true nature.Hide a YT-1300's extra cannon within its mandibles. Hide a cannon on board a Nova Courier and disguise it as another sensor arm in its starboard pontoon. Slip a cannon beneath one of the forward facing "wings" of the Decimator. If you get close enough, you *could* spot these, but they can't be targeted using brackets, because they've been hidden. Meaning, if you want to disable these weapons, you have to hit them directly.EDIT: This could also work vice-versa, converting unused slots into increased internal storage capacity, or, say, using that never used countermeasure slot to place a shielded hidden storage compartment...
