Thread: Well guys.. we get shafted again..
There is one fatal flaw with this reasoning... We cannot slice above caps. This makes a loot based slicing system almost a moot point when most people can buy their weapons and armor already at caps from a MA\MW. It would be different if we could slice above caps. Hell all the new weapons I had to buy after CU I bought most at caps so there is no need to slice, and the few that can be sliced, the meager advancement the sclise would do to the stats isn't worth the risk of obtaining the loot. It's a generic, crappy, non interactive slice system that was yet another way for SOE to steer it's players towards combat.

I prefered to be able to craft my parts, that way I always had them on hand and could slice whenever I wanted. Not to mention I didn't have to count on some "uber slicing item" to give my weapon a decent slice, it all depended on my skill, which is how it should be.
I don't see much difference between this and loots like Krayt tissue... except that we don't need to install the loot when the item is crafted.
Please understand that we are enhancing an existing item. It is not a necessary thing, it just makes the weapon or armor better - much as loot items can do during the crafting process.
Congrats to Tiggs for standing up for SOE. After playing this game since launch I can only say I am very surprised at how many players bash the game and the devs. If they had any clue what it takes to do a game of this complexity and please a "wide audience" as SOE is trying to do they would respect what they do. I for one would wait a year for a Smuggler revamp as long as it's done with thought, respect for continuity, and in such a manner that it works when it's published. I could also go for a bit better documentation while I'm at it.

Except they're not trying to please a "wide audience", they're trying to please a narrow piece of it. Furthermore, she never stuck up for SOE, she tried to change her wording so it didn't sound as bad, but a terd is a terd no matter how much you polish it.
One more thing while you're trolling, just because your profession has seen countless updates and fixes doesn't mean the rest have. I mean, bug fixes are great if your stuff has been overhauled 3 times already, but some of us are still waiting for them to finish their first attempt.

1.) If SOE would write my Paycheck, i would stand up them too. More or less. Its Tiggs damned job to jump in try to stomp on the fires that light up from time to time. This time it was Tiggs who gota direct hit, because of the allready mentioned funny wording and twisting.
2.) You saidyou would wait 1 year fora revamp?.. sorry.. but that shows how much actual knowledge you hava about this game and the Smugglers.. we waited for 1 Year.. and another year.. 1+1=2.. well that was it atleast when i got out of school 15 years ago.

That's great, now try waiting two like most of us.
Let me know how that feels when you get to the two year mark without anything (after being told countless times your profession was one of the highest priorities to boot), k?
Obviously from SOE's track record (and LucasArts' admittance of "looking the other way"), continuity isn't an issue.
Thank you, please try your troll again later. This forum is currently disconnected.
QFE!
For crying out loud she blatently lied in her post, and we have the proof in our faces, yet there are those defending SOE. Tiggs i feel for because I have no clue how she can come here everyday and say in essence Rove didn't say her name.

What i can't get over is the break to work on bugs, and broken quests etc... then CH gets a full revamp. Commando gets a nerf with our nades.. I just got a double plunge without lube. As a Master Commando/ Master Smuggler (known as the masochist template, but not as bad as MC/MRanger or MS/MRanger)I feel this is more of a slap in the face. Now new content, but new valorian quests comming, and 3 new quest lines when the y-8 quest has been bugged for 4patches I know of. The y-8 quest is a simple fix of not showing as a mission in the datapad, but the quest log like other space missions.

BTW. Anyone notice from the dev tracker that Tiggs has not posted at all this week, TH has been posting in her place. She might just be on vacation, I just find it a bit odd that she stopped posting shortly after her spin control debacle.

Honestly, this should come as NO surprise to any of you.
SOE has no respect for you as customers, never has and likely never will. For them to even think that they do is an insult to our intelligence.
The entire team cares very much about you the customers and the game. The game is constantly evolving and we need to focus our energy on bug fixes and making the game more fun for a wider audience. That includes the present audience in that. We want to have more players for you to play with and I am sure you want that also. With this comes reducing the scope of our publishes so that we can make sure that publishes are cleaner. This doesn't mean that there won't be changes to professions or other content, it just means that bigger things are pushed out and given the time to be worked on that they deserve.
Tiggs...
Each publish with new features creates more bugs which you have to fix at a later publish (or ignore as is often the case). Also, some of the solutions and fixes creates more bugs themselves. This has been the MO of this game since launch.
Do any of you realize how much the player base flinches when a new publish or patch is announced? What kind of atmosphere is that?
Call me uninformed or inexperienced but if I were running this $1 rusted circus, I'd stop with the new material (which frankly is pretty lame) for a few months and focus solely on BUG FIXES and BALANCE ISSUES.
I for one can wait for a few months to experiece the granduer that is "Syren Quest" or whatever it is.
I can just imagine rediscovering this game in an atmosphere of greatly diminished bugs.
I don'twant to read a post that tells me that the team CARES. Big friggin deal. You dont get credit for CARING. That is par for the course. The team needs to PRODUCE.
/rant off

I wouldn't even say a revamp was postponed. Tiggs only mentioned "new features." She didn't say that the Smuggler's revamp was postponed. To do that would be to imply the promise of such a thing. Ever since Sept '03 smugglers have been strung along with hints and hopes of a revamp. All that's happened in that time was a new slicing system requiring rare loot drops that only elite groups can hope to find. Read the history of smuggling thread....
I'll hope that a revamp is coming when it hits TC and believe it when it hits live.
The devs have shown absolutely no credibility when it comes to the subject of a "smugglers revamp."
I didn't say it wasn't postponed either. All I said is right now the Live team is focusing on fixing what is broken and new features will be moved out to a long term implementation.

Anyone besides me noticed that THAT lovely little gem to spinning got deleted?

Tiggs went on Vacation last friday. She stated it in her last or 2nd last post.
