Anyone see the mirror between the plot of The Never Ending Story and this community?
I'll give you a hint, in the movie, reality is crumbling. Characters get erased by something called The Nothing, and life gets drained away.
To save it all, someone must give a person a name.
In our case, the game is crumbling. People are "being erased" by some money-grubbing executives in charge of this game that make bad decisions.
I guess we are trying to save our world by giving eachother names.
One of these stories ends with the world being restored, haha!

Neverending Story is one movie you could relate our situation to. Another might be Fight Club.
A nameless Smuggler becomes so disillusioned with his existance that he implodes into self-destruction ("beer and pie" is clearly a metaphor for vice and masterbation) and ultimately finds the only way to cope is to rename himself entirely, to the extent that the other persona he creates ends up dominating him, drawing him closer and closer to doom. Of course it's a doom he narrowly avoids, just steering the reasonable side of obliteration. But is Project Mayhem as buried as he indicates it is? Hmmm
For that reason, I think I offer Ternque01 the nickname 'Tyler'
