I'll forgive you and assume you don't know the history here or you wouldn't have posted something like that. The only thing we want to hear is "here's the info on the smuggler revamp, and it will be here in 6 weeks." SOE has done nothing to earn our trust and enough to demolish it so that no one who's been through it would be anything but cynical. If you truly understood how we'd been jerked around, I honestly don't think you would have posted that.
Hey, let's cut the man some slack here.
If he fails to deliver though, we /lowblow him and spam /lastditch. Nothing personal, but they're the only thing about the class that functions as advertised.

It can be really hard not to be cynical when there's still so many issues that have been around since launch that still have yet to be fixed. I wish a focus thread could be made where all players can list their biggest ongoing issues, then a publish can be devoted to fixing them all. THAT would restore a BUTTLOAD of faith for me
Furthermore, the recent speed and quality of publishes DOES give some hope for a relatively fast and competent implementation of these changes. Do I think it will be? Hail if I know, I've been a smuggler since a couple weeks after launch, so I know just a bit about what we've been through, but things do seem different now.
I don't know how all this will play out. But I do know the concept documents are pretty damn amazing. At the same time, if they screw it up this time, I'll be quitting, I've had enough.
I'm not understanding the hostility here.

Your powers are weak, old man.
I'm with Spinning on this one. I don't want a hostile relationship with the devs. I want to work with them to make this profession as amazing as it deserves to be. If they're willing to put in the work and communication it'll take to do that this time around, I'll be willing to act in good faith to do everything I can to help out.
If they're not willing to do that.. well, good luck to them and their game, because I won't be here anymore.
Werd......

3 great publishes? Great?
What game are you playing. THis game was released a year too early and suffered from 1.5 years of poor planning and inadequate development resources. The game is languishing under broken professions and broken combat and the patches that were made, like to jedi WHOLELY ignored community feedback. For example the disaster that is the FRS, where SOE is sanctioning exploiting. It is unforgiveable and inexcusable.
SOE has repeatedly ignored its player base and chose priorities of short term revenue generation OVER player experience. So please, we know SOE's playbook, we have seen it over and over.
Pushing the CURB back repeatedly until now it coincides with an EpIII publicity push to again try and make SOE more money....please. More of the same.
Yes. I too have been PO'd that we have been pushed back time and time again... It sucks, it's stupid, and it shouldn't have happened.
From what I've been seeing lately, SOE has figured this out... On a massive scale. Look at what they're implementing in this game? Yes. It hasn't all been perfect. I think those complaining the loudest might not understand the complexity in programming a game like this. Have we gotten the shaft in the past? Sure. But I actually believe that their working on this in the background.
Also, due to our history, I don't think they gave us these documents without having something cooking back there. Do I expect this to happen in the next publish? No. Not a shot. But I expect they've heard our complaints about broken promises and aren't going to tell us a bunch of hooey that isn't going to happen. ("Hooey"? - Ay-ya).
I'm looking forward to hearing more on our other trees, I really hope some of what GreenMarine originally talked about can make it into the game (mainly, IMHO, look at our prerequisites... I loved when GreenMarine thought we should pick any melee weapon and any ranged weapon... Hell, I'd even go for business like in beta - But I'd love a little more slack there... Triple-Master is really all I can do that's worth anything... Okay... I'm rambling).
At any rate... lay off 'em. Not only Goliath, but the rest as well. Yes, they've shafted us before... I suspect they've learned from our bitching and won't do it again.
And I like the past few publishes.
Now I'm logging back in to find more gambling table schematics... Can't build my casino without 'em.
