Here's what ticks me off about systems like this. You need this item to perform your service, and this service isn't magic or anything (or at least not supposed to be) Where do these mobs get these items then? On WoW I needed alot of Linen as a Tailor for alot of simple items, and the only way I found to get it was to kill stuff till I looted it. I usually got enough Linen for what I needed, but it drove me crazy. Where did these mobs keep finding Linen, and how come I can't get it the way they do? It's like going to a McDonald's and ordering a Big Mac. Then the chef goes into the parking lot and mows down a few dozen people with a Uzi untill he can find some buns and a pattie on thier bullet-riddled bodies, then he charges 130,000$ for it. Exactly how do Krayts have Slicing Parts? Did they eat some unluckly NPC smuggler and by chance didn't digest the part you need. If this was actually just magic, and you need eye of newt and horn of dragon or whatever it'd make more sense in some sick twisted way.
not that it will do any good, but

Best post ever.
Looting our components is two things:
A) Uncreative. We've waited such a long time thatthis feels like a slap in the face to have to loot our components frommobs that we have no chance of getting access to, or killing, alone. Why would anyone have slicing tools in the DWB anyway?!
and
B) This is not in any way AT ALL what a Smuggler would do to gather tools for slicing. If anything, let us do smuggler missions and have slicing kits be the rewards. You can keep the spice shipment, or receive a slicing tool/kit, and some credits, for your reward. Higher tier kits for higher difficulty missions.
I have until change a part of old smuggler, then i will strike of slices. If any guy ask me for slices i say not.I not slice a part of a piece, or slice is good or not slice. If all smugglers do the same nobody will have weapons and armours sliced and maybe this problem will change.
No more loots for do a job, we need tools for do a job, no a luky loots from all side of galaxies.
no more slices is a response

These dont work unless your a jedi. Plus the new loot system is a good idea. this stuff is supposed to be illeagal so looting is a good way to find it. We just need a loot system that works.
nota flame, but i just want to know how you equate illegal with loot...
one has nothing to do with the other. i agree that sliced items should be somewhat rare, especially the ones that are sliced to be really powerful. but looting tools/components to perform slices does not reflect the illegal nature of slicing in the slightest bit.
a better way to reflect the illegal nature of slicing would be to have anAFTER SLICING risk/penalty system, which would make people think twice before they got a slice.
