Caylin, Thanks for all you've done for this community. I am deeply saddened and troubled to see you go. The next correspondent has one heck of a job in front of him, not only representing this broken profession and seeing us through the revamp (whenever that comes), but everyone here is going to compare his actions, statements, intentions, etc - to yours. You have been the quintessential smuggler in a lot of minds here, and the next guy has some rather large shoes to fill.
Best of luck to you, Caylin. May good fortune and opportunity smile on you where ever you go and with what ever you do.

Caylin, sorry to see you go. When I left the game in March (only logged on here due to the "10 free days" offer) I thought smugglers were in good hands. And while it's certainly no fault of Caylin's I still see this community waiting for the ever out of reach update. I don't think Tantalus had this much trouble in getting the boulder to the top of the hill.
I've seen Caylin's ideas (which is what propelled him into the correspondent position) and thought if SOE could get even half of that implemented the smuggler profession would be fun. So...when is the combat rebalance and smuggler revamp supposed to happen?

I'm a soon to be smuggler (raising Unarmed IV right now) who have been surfing the Smuggler forum since a little while. From what I saw, Smuggler_Caylin, I am sad that you won't be the Smuggler correspondant anymore when I finally join the profession.

Please everyone in this thread read the petition for a suitable replacement and sign if you would. Replacing the best correspondant in the game is gonna be hard and if we dont say something they WILL screw it up somehow

I admire your optimism, till JTL comes out - that is all the info that will be covered. After release their will be a rush to fix any outstanding issues and since they can't do that without Green Marine, more delays. The preliminary documents on the Combat Revamp maybe out In December time frame, however after the Holidays is more likely as staff and players tend to take time off. Then there will need to be hardware builds to get a sandbox in place, organize the incoming players, and start testing. This will take place after the documents have been hashed out in the forums and intial changes approved by Lucas Arts. More tweaking and sandbox updatesand final approval. Then a chance to teasethe community into test center totry out the new system. Then the roll-out to everyone. THEN Green Marine will get back to us, tillhe is pulled again to take care of some fire or moves on to something else (new game for example). I think we all have an idea when the Smuggler revamp will take place then.

Ye gods. You can tell I'm not up on current events. When I left 6 months ago the combat revamp was "in the works," "coming soon," the "answer to all the problems," and "right around the corner." In fact, wasn't the smuggler revamp postponed because of it? I'll say it again. Ye gods.
Well, I was actually thinking of logging back in and at least saying hi to the few old friends still in the game, but I'm depressed again.
As usual, Smugglers, stay strong and press forward. Hopefully your day to shine will come.

Goodbye Caylin. It is always desperately hard to see the old timers leave especially when they have been as valued and important to a community as you have been. God speed and may the Force be with you. You will be missed.
