Why are you guys so ready to give stuff up? I don't think anyone in here wants to stop the smuggling system from coming but why the heck does that mean we have to give up somethingelse? I think smuggling will be awesome but it will still be a cropped and incomplete profession by removing something else that is unique to smugglers. Smuggling is the moving of contraband. WTH is contraband if there areno illegal items? The system is changing, now is the time to tell them what we want!

I agree that if they put in a good smuggling system, I could care less about them taking away slicing and us crafting spice. Why? Well because smugglers aren't slicers and they don't make the drugs. For the people that have read any of the EU books, wasGhent a smuggler? No, not at all, he was the Star Wars version of a computer hacker. He worked FOR a smuggler, but I just think that being a slicer is its own job seperate from smuggling. Those are my two cents atleast.

I will admit, I will miss slicing. The earlier days of my profession it was so much fun to run through the geo cave (**edit** I still don't have the Acklay badge....) and have my group behind me asking me what the codes are.


I dunno. I ripthe panel off and cut a few wires. Since when has a smuggler needed any codes?


I am also quite adverse about giving up FD. It was a nice move that instantly brought you out of combat if you had the action for it. (Truthfully I used it all to often to go get a soda. With my guildmates cursing me down in the DWB. Or heaven forbid, pee because some ruddy jedi wanted to spend four hours down there.) Meh. My 2 creds in this issue. I'm looking forward to actual smuggling though. (if that's what we will get. I've learned not to trust everything they say.)

Im a bit biased, you see, since the CU, i've only sliced maybe 5 -6 weapons, all of them mine. I didnt craft spice either, as I've always thought that Chef's should've gotten this instead; we're Smugglers after all, not street chemist.


So, for someone like me it's easy to say "fine, take it away"; when the only thing that I "really" want to do is smuggle.

I would say that removing slicing completely is an extremely bad idea... I like the post talking about slicing terminals and so forth. Thats just something a smuggler does.I wouldn't mind slicing any terminal... Mustafar cost like 2600-3000 round trip...


Definitly keep Slicing terminals, add more terminals that can be sliced.
Please keep Slicing weapons and armour I have tonnes of credits in tools that i would rather not loose.

I look at it this way, the loss of Spice/Slice opens the door for the possibilityof having "trueillegal" items in introduced in the future.


And who my dear scholars, stand to benifit from this...<insert comment from the peanut gallery> We do, that's who.

What do the Smuggler Slicing Tools convert to?


Can we still slice terminals and containers?

  1. Will the NGE increase min sys req?

  2. Will vets get theprofession (oops Icon) specific items recieved while grinding said Icon?

True the current smuggler is a neat profession all things told... however, you dont see Han ever FD, you never see him "mesmerize" or "root anyone" (although we keep roots/stuns). Point being even though smuggler as it currently stands is neat... the actual SWG smuggler is one who is "wicked with a pistol and has mad underworld connections."


Meaning that the NGE smuggler is probably more true to the actual SWG storyline. Despite how pissed off everyone gets about that. Also aside from being able to blow stuff up with my commando, for sustained damage in a gunfight, I would want to have a smuggler handy.

I have to agree,..although Low Blow was a very Smugglerly move it hasn't worked "right" since the CU so loosing it is not a problem for me.


The loss of skill pre-cu and post-cu mattered mostly for the fact that we hardly had anything. We weren't given anything better or worse the nerf came from whiners called Jedi that had abused a skill of ours.


Now..well its a new game apparently. We've given up two skills and gained a lot.


Rather than focus on skill lost we should focus on gaining Smuggling which is in the tutorial, and what a tutorial it is, but I am not sure how it is in the active game.

Nope, they're supposedly staying the same. I think they've done some optimisation anyway.

    Wes im master smug and all that. what is ppls problem with slicing it was the only really useful smugglers could do... and u know all slicing components are they gonna be axed or get turned into something nice when it converts?
