Hi!
Not beeing a novice but probably guilty of beeing naive I just need to ask:
I did a job last night slicing a carbine for a customer. When I choosed to slice the carbine it said that the PU had been removed. My thought was: "Good thing it was removed because i never noticed it beeing on" and continued to slice the weapon.
Now to the question: Did i mess up?
I really hate exploits and wouldn´t use any knowingly. When customers tell me: "50k / slice with 30+ in dam all others for free"I simply state that I´m willing to take a shot at it but that the whole thing is random. (So far I actually only have had one of these and he tipped me 20k even though I didn´t get any good dam. slices).
Thanks for any answers.

You did not exploit. That message is normal whenever you slice a weapon with a power-up on it. The PU exploit is something different.

Nope, you didn't mess up. That piece of code was put in specifically to make sure the powerup is removed. No worries here.

Thx for the reply Ganga!
I would rather turn down a 300k job than exploit.

I've had this happen a number of times. If the customer hands me a weapon and its text is in yellow I always examine it. If it has a powerup I always inform them the powerup will be lost. So far, all but one customer gave me the generic "That's okay". The one customer didn't realize it had a powerup when he bought it.

Hehe, no problem.. I got nothing left over for those who use exploits knowingly.. low on credits isn´t an excuse..
Thanks again for all your answers!

Right, 'cause if you're low on credits, the powerups would cost you more.

I usually inform them that their powerup won't work any more because it gets detached. I don't want them getting all irate at me because the sliced stats came out less than the p-up stats. I'm a smuggler. Why should I do anything illegal?
