Calling all Smugglers and sympathizers!
Having read numerous posts here on this board I have come up with an idea (partially stolen, like a good smuggler should do 
) for us to send a message to the good folks at SOE. What we do is on Saturday September4th beginning at 8 a.m. est , every Smuggler and sympathizer meet just outside the starport of Coronet on each server. Then setup a macro:" /yell We won't be pushed around! Smuggler revamp now!".

Second, we will bring wider attention to the player base to our issues. Third, we may just lag the server enough that SOE will actually take notice as to what is going on.
Personally I bought this game a few months ago for the EXPRESS purpose of becoming a Smuggler. I want to be able to involve myself in shady deals transporting cargo through Imperial (or Rebel) lines. I want to have a character that can effectively fight and perhaps run away, but definitely not die! Damnit I just want some SERIOUS attention to our profession by the devs! I mean I see patches coming out all the time fixing what seem like very minor issues, and yet major issues with our profession that could be easily resolved are left to suck.
OK to recap, let us all spread the word about this event to our respective servers and get as many people involved as possible. I will hope to see all ofyou at Coronet on September 4th at 8 am est until 12 pm est to support your fellow Smugglers and the plight of our profession.

A nice try, but I don't think you'll get any real turnout.
I, for one, won't be on at 8:00am EST and I'm in NJ. If this was 8:00 PM then you might have a shot at catching me on and I'd do it for a little while (maybe 1/2 hr - 1 hr max).
Either way, all you're really doing is lagging the servers and ticking off other players. SOE is not gonna revamp Smuggler before they want to .... which is after JtL and the Combat Rebalance.
I'm with ya in spirit ... but thats about it.

Do you think a later time like say starting at 12pm or maybe even 3pm est? And instead of demanding the revamp now, since perhaps I wasn't really thinking about the work involved, maybe we just ask for some fixes. I mean I'd be happy if they just threw us a bone even! Like knock an item or two off of Caylins August Problems list. Heck I'd be happy if they even READ his list!

SOE are focusing at 2 things atm
- Publish 10 debugging/testing
- JTLS testing/coding
throw in the smuggler revamp, we'll have either
pub 10 / JTLS bugged/delayed/unbalanced
or a crappy smuggler revamp, then some will whine about how crappy revamp it would be, then devs will be like "hey, it's you who asked to get it earlier, now you got your revamp and shu7 up !"
I too am waiting for this since january (picked up smuggler when the revamp was first announced), they want to make the Smug revamp along with JTLS and space game. u get it now, you're screwed, plain and simple.

Are we going to work here? You want us to picket?
This isn't our game, it's SOE's game. They can and will do what they want. Protesting or spamming or anything else has never and will never do ANYTHING in a MMORPG. The same thing with silly petitions. The ONLY thing that works is if everyone playing a smuggler were to cancel their account. And we all know that's not going to happen.
So you havetwo options.
1) Wait.
2) Cancel
So on September 4th, you go ahead and do your protest. And everyone around you will do what they do to all of the item spammers.... /addignore .

With all do respect you stop in here with 8 posts to your name and tell us to join you in a sit in. If you had been following this board for more then a week you would know that this is a bad ideaand will accomplish nothing. Many Smugglers here in the community have worked very hard and for a long, long time to get a re-vamp. The dev's can not and will not work on it now, this has been made very clear. We like all the other profession need to wait until the needs of the many are first addressed. Do I want a re-vamp yes, does every smuggler here want a re-vamp, yes, will a sit in do anything to further that, no. I understand where you are comming from but you need to dig into this communitys posts (more then 5 pages) to see that right now we have to wait. BTW, This is comming from someone who wanted to do a sit in 4 months ago and remember talk of a re-vamp has been raging since launch, this is nothing new to us.

A protest will do nothing but upset more players and possibly piss off the developers. The Smuggler revamp will happen, it's just a matter of time.

as much as I'd like to beta the space expansion, i'd prefer to do so WITH a ship around me, not teleported there by a CSR lackey.

They are not going to rush our revamp they are going to work on JTL and the Combat Revamp and not much is going to help us now. I would have to say I coulden't go along with something like this because it makes my life miserable on my horrible computer. But if it makes you feel like you are having an effect on it whatever.

thye also stated that every revamp wouldnt be comig out in one big lump, meaning there is always a possibility that they may test and release portions of different areas. considering the job they have ahead of them i wouldnt mind a piece here and there. waited this long (over year) so a piece of the combat revamp, piece of the gcw and especially a piece of the smuggler revamp, i'd be cool 
just give "brak-man" something

You know that the smuggler revamp won't be able to be used to its full potential untill JTL is out so wait 5 months..its ok you can do it

Protests may have gotten Wookiees their armor, but I don't think SOE is going to play that game anymore.
A big protest was held on Intrepid last week about a bunch of accounts being banned with the credit dupe. They all gathered in Theed on their server, in hopes to get people who were tipped duped credits maliciously their account unbanned. All that did was cause multiple CSR's to show up and tell them to disburse or they will shut down the server.
Sad as it maybe, we honestly don't have much power in the matter. They have their schedules and our wonderful correspondent is working his tail off in order to represent the smuggler.
