AFAIK, the armor break slice doesn't keep you from being hit by the armorbreak ability, it only reduces the effectiveness of the armorbreak ability (by 75% in your case). For example, if armorbreak reduces armor protection by half (50%), then the 75% armorbreak slice would make it so that armorbreak only reduced the effectiveness of your armor by 12.5%, instead of 50%.

As I understand it, this slice doesn't impact wether or not you get hit with the armor break, but instead reduces the effects of the armor break by 75%. This means that you will still get hit every time, but that instead of doing, say, 100 dmg to the armor, it instead only does 25 dmg. Thus preserving your very expensive armor AND keeping it effective longer for the fight.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Slim Vargo has it right as far as I understand it, and the FAQ seems to back that up. Think of armor break like a state... a state that makes your armor less effective. While that state is on you, you will take extra damage. The armor break reduction slice lessens the effects of that state by up to 75%. Armor break doesn't make your armor wear out sooner, that's just the roll from when you get hit whether or not it loses condition. Thedeflection slice, on the other hand, does make your armor last longer.

Yup, you guys are both right. Slim's post wasn't up when I started writing mine, and I was trying (very ineffectually, in retrospect) to get across the same point. Slim's explanation is way more precise than mine.

My jedi has only faced one BH who had the AB slice. Trust me, it saved his life. If the BH doesn't have it, I can rip him apart in about 2-4 minutes. The one that did, him and I fought for 45 minutes with neither of able to kill the other. It is very worth while getting if you face either swordsman or jedi.
