More like a "Slicer Revamp" than a "Smuggler Revamp" you say?
My only hope is they want to see how the NPC missions work out first before implimenting Player Smuggling. Which, i fear, will probably be another 2 years off at this rate.

Yup. And people got all excited over it because someone was looking in their general direction and not giving us what we asked for.
100% agreement, JTG. Ihardly got excited over those 2 documents and especiall the Slicing one. I'm a Smuggler, not a slicer or drug dealer.
As it stands, the only way we'll be able to interact with other players in this MMO with our profession will be through very non-Smuggler like means: Selling spice andslicing items.
I'm digging up that post by Solo4114 or EN where they talked about us being in our own PvE corner with no player interaction and stuff....was perfect for this.

Once again I state...I didn't know I had to buy an expansion to Smuggle.

I have hopes for PC BHs (but not high hopes)- for now I think the CU and what they have laid out is an EXCELLENT start for a revamp. The rest I expect in the UNDERWORLD EXPANSION.
Looks like it's about time to stop wasting time with all the suggestions, revamp ideas and feedback since they'll just do their own thing anyway, somewhat like the new galactic vendor search system being 'pulled back for an internal revamp' and put on TC almost the same as it was before. Bah.
The simple fact is the devs probably don't WANT this class in the game. At least not in any truly interactive form. They'd like us to stick around and RP our way through things rather than THEM doing their JOBS and giving us a truly developed profession. Why? Because it's easier and it keeps in line with the Star Wars amusement park they've developed here. "Look kids! There's Han Solo! See? He's 'smuggling' goods past those guards!" "Daddy, he's just pretending." "Shhh, I know, but isn't it fun to watch?"
That, I believe, is the dev vision for us. We're tourist attractions. We're the guys in the cartoon character suit who wander around "in character" while kids get their pictures taken with us and we sweat our sacks off inside the suit wondering if we'll ever get a real job or why we didn't go work somewhere else."

Yeah, I think we ought to be important to the game, but not that important.
Why? I mean, it's not like you can get that uberl33t weapon crafted without a Weaponsmith or the uberl33t buff applied without a Doctor, can you?
