Walter Fletcher, who's that you say? Probably the most notorious and successful smuggler of all times.
A smuggler who not only helped the SOE (Special Operations Executive, kind of like the OSS) during WW2, but made a bundle doing so. The British Gov't put the value of his operations on their behalf smuggling rubber and other things from Japanese held territory at over 77 million pounds.
A Special Operation Executive officer described him as "not exactly the person to be trusted with the private means of a widow or an orphan."
Fletcher wrote the following doggeral about himself:
'Garrulous, old, implusive, vague, obese,
Only by luck not "known to the police,"
Wedded to wine and food, and oft-told tales,
Stuffed over-full, as foie gras is in quails.
A mind once keen, now almost in eclipse,
A figure, too, that looks like an ellipse;
This, and no more, be Walter's epitaph:
"In war's worst hour, he sometimes made us laugh."'

Kav and Solo of course, those guys were keystones.
Slugeater was one in the early days, and Rudd was great for the whole 40% weapons slicing controversy.
Also, SatansCircus always cracked me up for some reason.

I don't have any favourites, you're all my pretties, ahhhhhhhhhahaahahahahahahahaahahh!
/snaps out of it
ahem.
Anyway, including afformentioned Smugglers, there's one or two I feel that need to be added to the already fine list. In no particular order;
Geevo,
Ipseck,
Fishbrains,
JTGAlpha,
TomoRainer,
Yimaz,
NickHeel,
Nicolas_Frost,
Turnque_01,
EnderUK,
Goliath,
Ragnaat,
IndySWG,
AngusMacGregor
Red-Dwarf,
RogueCloudWalker,
Tiggs (yes, even the pouncing one was a Smuggler once
)... there's a whole bunch I've missed out, but it's late and I'm about to go to bed, so my appologies to all fine, upstanding community members who have given their time and effort to help try and make Smuggler and its community something better.
Now, before I hit the sack, some fictional characters
Marcus Cole (Babylon 5); Hober Mallow and Lathan Devers (Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, both 'Traders'); Capt. Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds (Firefly); Mirax (Xwing novels), Mara Jade (in her days working for Karrde), Talon Karrde (yarr), and of course the man himself, Han Solo.
