So I was all excited to buy some faction until I discover that 20k credits buys me a whooping 250 faction from my local imperial recruiter

Should I work for the rebellion now? lol Yes my character is an Alien, a Mon Calamarian.
My understanding is that I was only penalized when exchanging faction for stuff not also for buying faction. I grinded smuggler for slicing and faction perks.

rebels will sell you the same number of FPs for credits. The difference (for being alien) is in how many of those faction points you're charged for buying perks. the Imperials hit you with an "Alien tax" while the rebels won't. You'll still only get 250 for 20k.

Congrats and welcome to the club
As for the Rebellion, they still get the cries of Alderaan bonus, which includes faction purchases... all depends on your code of eithics/characters beliefs I guess .

Of course you should join the Rebellion. It shouldn't have anything to do with the price of faction materials though.

Well if joining the rebellion doesn't make faction any better than whats the point?
I really want my set of ST armor and AT-ST
How many credits will that set me back?
P.S. If I donate 100k does the ratio change at all or still the same as donating 20k five times?

oh yeah and btw another reason I'd rather not join the rebellion is that I'm in an Imperial guild not a single Rebel or Neutral in our guild
