I just realized in order to get master I do indeed need to work on spices and at 120 exp per item crafted it seems to me it will take forever....
How did YOU survive this???

It doesn't take that long - Shadowpaw over and over again.
Make sure you make a crafting macro, there are lots all over the crafting boards.
Only takes an hour or two (depending on your macro speeds).

Lol
You better hope no one in a real crafting profession hears you complaining about the spice grind.
Frankly its nothing compared to what they have to go through. Once you get macro crafting going, you'll see its not as bad as your think. A couple hours and you got a whole tree done.

Agreed, it doesnt take too long.I would rather do spices over slicing. It really just boils down to sitting down and doing it.

Lol I ground UP BE on 105 exp units, and I only had 3 grinding trees to do, which is less than the "real" crafting professions have to do. Complaining about one tree frightens me honestly, find a macro and go to town.

Personally I did spices in about an hour and a half. Slicing is more, but you can still just pay your way through and it isn't that bad.
What I found to be the anoying part was having to get 1.9million pistols without any extra mods to help along the way.

Actually I did spices sans macro, and even better, without just doing shadow paw. It took me some time to be sure, but I made some money a long the way. These days, however I'm not sure how well that would work with spices in le toilet. If you don't feel like macroing it just do it by hand whenever you're waiting for the shuttle, sitting around the cantina waiting for containers or any other downtime. In FACT, craft a bunch of useable stuff and hand it out FREE with all the containers you open a long the way.
The great part about smuggling is all the different types of xp you need. So you can work on two things at once. Working on pistol xp? Cool. Make a bunch of spice, and eat it as you go. Sure, it's not Neutron Pixie, but who cares? Find a container? Slice it. Shouting forcontainers? Offer free samples or sell samples at whatever price you like in the meantime. Just flubbed the slice on a terminal? Make spice and shout for containers!

The trick is not to macro...it is to use multiple crafting stations. I generally use about 3 to grind so I always have one going.
Also, make sure to turn off crafting confirmations in they Options menu.

I think getting through the spice tree is the easiest thing you can do. You can even get some done while waiting for the shuttle to arrive. Spend enough times getting stuck waiting 10 minutes at the starport and you won't realize when you're done.

Hehe. I've ground out artisan, weaponsmith, droid engineer, spices, and I made each staff by handwhen I was grinding slicing. Spices is nothing.

Spice is easy to do
I find it a good thing to do while i'm waiting for shuttles....it makes the wait go faster and you're basiclly only grinding for 5-8 minutes at a time. Multiply that by how many times you have to wait for a shuttle and it won't take as long as you think
On my way up the smuggler trees for the third time now and actually looking forward to getting thee spice tree back again
Maybe this time I won't drop it when I get discouraged about where the prof is going ( eg: no more fricking revamps delays ! :smileymad
