Thread: need help from fellow smugglers(off-game topic)

hi there fellow smugglers.
before start i wasnt to apologise for posting this here.
well im spanish with canadian nationality and im doing a major change of my life and ill be moving to USA to live in about 2 weeks or a month.
anyone can spare me a few lines,about what a good place to live is?cheap cost of life and so on?
on the humourous side i can add that if any wants to adopt i chubby-beaver-lookalike-spaniard go ahead with offers ROFL J/K
seriously im not looking for invites or anything just any tips as in to help me choose a plce to live

I haven't lived in the states for a few years, butI can tell you that unless you enjoy hurricanes and frequent evacuations, you should avoid Florida. I hope some other people can give you better advice on this one though, good luck with the move.

Really it all depends on what you like. Every region has its own personality. East coast tends to be a bit more conservative, west coast more liberal. (and I'm not talking about politics *coughvotelibertariancough*) The south is usually pretty friendly and we have a pretty large hispanic population, however the job market varies betwen OK and feckall. Its easier to find jobs doing what you want in large cities and the pay is usually higher, but the cost of living is too. For instance in the south in small to medium towns you can buy a perfect historical monument of a house for about 100k that has about 1500 sq feet, garage, an acre of land etc etc. In california a house this size would be 250k-1m depending on the location. I.E. Ghetto with drug dealers in the front yard and gang signs spraypainted on the walls would be 250k. However California does have a really high fun factor built into it. Las Vegas is another town that is growing like mad, however if you have an addictive personality, avoid it at all costs. Because let me tell you LV is like Disneyland except Walt was a pimp instead of a cartoonist. I love Las Vegas. But then again I'm a smuggler so I would lol. Vice>Virtue.

thnkx for the tips guys,,/sigh its tough choosing a place to live,ill probably just visit some places and stay in the city i like the most.
when you say south you mean like texas and all that area,i mean in the map USA is quite big and the south covers a wide area

"South" on the map generally referrs to Texas, Louisiana (my home state), Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee (sp?), etc.
I love living in Louisiana.
Granted,my home town isa small town, and I could probably make more money as a computer tech if I moved somewhere else, but big cities just aren't my style...even the medium-large cities take me out of my element. I'm more of a laid-back kinda guy, so I'll be content to stay put in this little town. And, if I ever need excitement, there's a larger city that's only 45 minutes away...

Try San Antonio it's got a good job market with Toyota moving in going to get better. Plus there is a lot of stuffto do.
The housing cost are pretty low, just bought a great house there 1700 sq feet for 120k. Too bad the military moved me to Japan can't live there for 3 more years.

I live in Louisiana too! This is by far the greatest state in the country! Want proof? Try the food. Mmmmm... gumbo...
Hehe, seriously though, what area you live in? I'm in Lafource Parish myself.

Sadly, despite the fact that in my 8th grade year of high school (so very long ago) they forced us to take a class on the history and geography of Lousiana, I don't remember where Beauregard Parish is. Not that I expect a great deal of people know where Lafource is.. we probably live in equally small and obscure towns lol. I'm about 45 mins south of New Orleans however... so when I feel that occassional (and often very brief) need to see the big city, I just hop in the car and go!

LOL...I actually had to look at a map to see where Lafourche Parish was...
And, I'm 45 minutes north of Lake Charles, so that's the big city I get to visit when I need to go see a movie or go to the mall or whatever...

I'm from the south and I love it. Cost of living is low here, so the fact that on average you'll make a little less than you would doing the same work up north doesn't really mean as much since you'll be able to keep a lot more of it.

i like americans as well as a little of southamericans,so LA sounds cool,i have heard it can be a little dangerous place to live in.

LA as in Los Angeles, or LA as in Louisiana? You said dangerous, so you must mean Los Angeles. Don't wear red or blue, or any baseball hats with any sports team logos on them until you're certain they're not gang affiliated unless you don't mind getting shot at.
