I have read the original FAQ but I was understanding that there was certain space mobs that were dropping this loot. If the LITHIUM forums search worked I would look it up.
If you can help me out I would appreciate it.

What I do not understand is you stated you read the "Original FAQ" which is in a thread dated October 30th 2004 and was last updated March 11th 2005. The FAQ is from July 2nd... of 2004.
Why would you not read the FAQ that is STICKIED and dated July 11th 2005...

I have heard of various tire 4-5 ships you will encounter in quests and missionsdropping these. Some have reported looting them from imp ships in kessel and Deep space as well. I have tried just shooting up about 50 or so tier 4 ships over a perod of time one night, and only goot normal loot. So immagine you might have to be on a mission from your trainer or a quest of some sort to get these parts.

unfortunately we are certified for pistols, which throws most swords out the window (so to speak) and PSG's are just to bugged and expensive to use regularly.

ahem, i shall offer some constructive observation.
Rebel Ace Pilot
4 Black Sun duty missions from the hotel in Lok
Roughly 100 fighters per duty x4= 400 ships
1.5hrs per duty run to kill, drop off loot, and get the mission again = 6hours
outcome: Illegal Core Booster 0, Black Sun Ace Helmet 1
so, something that is notoriously difficult to loot (we hear 1:1000) was obtained in a time period without any ICB being looted. Poor luck or horrible drop rates?

I have plenty of level 4 armor loot lying around and about 10 delicate triggers.....but no dam Illegal Core Boosters

I was grinding neutral pilot in kessel and I killed a Imp gun boat and got one...3 more tier 5 fighters...nuthin...then killed a rebel gunboat and got another!
Soooo...killed another Gunboat (reb) and got ANOTHER! I love kesssel runs

I got one from a tier 5 ship when trying to finish the red tie quest above kashyyyk.

I looted one off of a non-blasksun tier 4 or 5 in Endor space. (Either a Red Skull Pirate or one of those pirate spawns that starts with an 'A' (Ay'neyet ???)
