Do we get work from NPC's, Special terminals or from faction bosses? Thanks.

You can get missions from the gegular terminals but u can slice them and make them worth more money (correct me if im wrong because im not one yet but i've been reading other posts) Im not sure how much more money but im sure someone else does.

There is no "special" work available to smugglers that is not available to everyone else. We can make spice and sell it in the bazaar just like any other crafter. We can open containers, but they have to be found by players and brought to us. We can slice weapons and armor, but they are sold just as any other item in the bazaar.
No NPCs hiring only smugglers. No special terminals. No faction bosses. Not even Jabba. This is probably the biggest complaint of smugglers.

Improved damage, speed, etc for weaponsand lower penalties to your pools for armor. Might be able to increase the amount of damage absorbed by armor, but I'm not sure.

Pathetic, isn't it? Two years and NO SMUGGLING. And they STILL won't talk to us about it.
You couldn't make this stuff up and have anyone believe it was true.

We get plenty of work.
you see the guys on the exit ramps with the cardboard signs and pi$$ staind pants? Those are smugglers.

You can't reduce hindrance or increase effectiveness of armor. You can give armor a %chance to take 50% hit to condition, lower the point where condition starts affecting effectiveness, give a small % chance for the wearer to take 50% damage, increase the protection from the "armor break" skill used by melee.
Weapons, increase damage by up to 8%, decrease speed by up to 12%, give up to a 10% for a critical hit (currently broken unless you already have crtical shot skill).
