Thread: Hard Hitting Smuggler?

I know that this question has probably been asked a million times, but here goes a million and one. I love smuggler and will not give it up for anything, but I want to hit hard. I am currently Master Commando/ Master Smuggler/ XX44 Pistoleer. Like the temp, but am looking for something a little harder hitting. Any suggestions? I know MBH/ MS is supposed to be good, but I don't really want to go BH, as eveeryone is doing it. How does Master Rifles/ Master Smuggler sound with X4XX Carbineer? Thoughts and suggestions, and sorry for the recurring question.

i've taken the road of master Smuggler, master Pistoleer, and Carbineer 4040.


i think Carbineer adds a bit of umph to the nearly redundant Smuggler/Pistoleer Crowd Controller template. the 1st and 3rd lines of Carbineer seem to be the most beneficial to me.

Thanks for the input. I tried Master Smuggler (of course) and Master Rifleman with X4XX Cabineer. I wasn't too excited about the rifleman, nice dmg, but too many restrictions. I think I will try your temp out. Thanks again.

I've gone the route of Master Pistols/Master Smuggler/Commando 4400


Picks up the speed, accuracy, and defense out of the commando line. My stats are something like Speed 110, Accuracy 220, Ranged Defense 210, Melee Defense 240. Pretty close to that.


Compared stats with a rifleman (my hunting buddy) and mine are better.


Have a gorax FW5 with base DPS of 318 and I am ready to rock - adjusted DPS is over 500 and my damage on improved bodyshot is over 700 consistent.

I tried the Master Smuggler/ Master Commando/ XX44 Pistoleer, haven't tried switching it around. I'm guessing yours is a bit faster since you have all the speed and def from pistols and speed and def from Commando. I don't want to drop Commando, but I guess a Smuggler should be a pistoleer and not abazooka toting killer, lol. Thanks.

That Smuggler/Pistoleer/Carbineer template you mentioned is the same one I run, I like it, it gives great skill mods for pistol use, Good skill mods for Carbine use, the ability to hit up to 50 meters away(with a Carbine) quickly and accurately, and the area specials are very nice with Pistols and Carbines.

How did you get those numbers? I checked the numbers ingame against the numbers on the character builder from Bloodfin; and I didn't get the same results as you say. The results I got were General Ranged Accuracy: 195, General Ranged Speed: 55, Pistol Accuracy: 55, Pistol Speed: 45, Melee Defense: 185, and Ranged Defense: 160. Now, if you are adding the General Ranged mods and the Pistol Mods, I can see a result of Pistol Accuracy Modded: 235 and Pistol Speed Modded: 100; but where did you get the extra 55 points for Melee Defense and the extra 50 points for Ranged Defense with only 18 Skill Points left over? Is Pistol Defense: 50 added into Melee Defense and Ranged Defense? I am not flaming, just trying to understand the changes so I can fix my template.

my template is master smuggler - master pistol - master marksman - commando x2xx and combat prowness (FS) x2xx (ranged speed).


offense rates : speed 124 (pistol) and 96 (rifle and carbine) - accuracy 250 pistol, rifle and carbine


defense rates : melee 197 - ranged 213



advantages : you can use all the smuggler shots and pistol shots with pistols AND carbines AND rifles


you can root with concussion shot at 64 meters


you can last ditch with an advanced laser rifle..........


in fact it's quite the best on my own, because smugglers increase pistol abilities, so you must have pistoleer, and not carbineer or rifleman. and taking master marksman give you the possibility to use with efficiency rifles and carbines when you need more power or more distance. and you're lvl 80 with this template.


it's much more powerful than MBH-MS


if you don't have fs skills, just take commando x3xx. full template 250 skills points with MS-Mpistol- Mmarksman



try it, you will adopt it

pistol and smuggler share marksman pistol tree...


smuggler and commando share unarmed tree...


commando and pistol share the ranged support tree of marksman...


so you optimize the template


and then you have enough skill points to masterize Marsman which is not an elite profession, but gives nice bonus in general ranged speed and mostly in general ranged accuracy.


if i do well, after master smugg, mpistol and master marks you still have 18 skill points
