OK, I know that this isnt the "Smuggler's Pistol", but Han had one , yes I know his was black...but you know what I mean.
Anyway. I recently had a DL44 XT custom made,Krayted, and ....yeah I sliced it ...of course I found out right then and there that slicing was fubar, when I got a 3% speed slice. The Base DPS went up by about 12-15 points though

Anyway, My base modded DPS, is 518, with a 29.9 % Pup it jumps tp a crazy 728 dps! (the speed on that pistol is a crazy 0.6 pupped)
Anway, this pistol put my DE-10 that pre-CU had a max damage of 482.....needless to say, my DE-10 is in storage collecting dust, and this DL44 XT is now my primary weapon.
While respec'ed I tried a number of template sto figure out what I wanted. First one I tried was the MS/MBH/4/0/0/0 commando, and although that one....kicked ass, I changed it to see what I could get.
I finnally settled for MS/MC/4/4/0/4 pistoleer. And its funny that the pistol tree gave me 20 extra DPS in my pistols....
No, there is no way I can out damage a MBH with thier improved critical shot, matter of fact their improved critical does 49% MORE damage than the improved Body shot. But this template fits my character.

hee hee same template here, well currenlty Master Smuggler andCommando with 3001 in pistols. Yes the damage we do isn't great, but it fits me down to a tree. Once the AoE in commando get fixed, then it's going ot be fun for damaging and controling large numbers. When ever a large mob gets out of control I whip out my flame thrower and concussion shot and jump with glee with all the Roots I see. We then all run away

Thats exactly what I do.....
Yesterday I went out with a couple frineds to visit the Nightsisters.....there were a few times, where we were overwhelmed. But I managed to whip out my flame thrower, and control them.
Careful with 'Nades though, I used those at the wrong time, and pissed off a bunch of non-agro yellow cons...

It was nice to see that the DL44 XT came out as a gunpistol, atleast from a weaponsmiths point of view, since now they can atleast build pistols with base dps of 330ish stats when krayted. Yeah I have done the same misstake as you, slicing some of my reward weapons, but hey, better to learn it the hard way and to remember it.
As for template & weapons I use this. MS/MP/Carb 0440. + Force ranged speed IV (+12 speed)
For pure dpsPvE I tend to lean towards this gun: (no pup at all)
Custombuilt krayted pre-CU dam sliced Republic Blaster.
Speed.1.8
My modified speed: 1.08s
Dam: 366-843
Base DPS: 362.22/sec
My modified DPS: 604.56/sec
Range 0-35 (+5m from cybernetic arm)
SAC: 85
For PvP and burst damage (in full group where you just get off 2-3 shots and then the target is dead)
Custombuilt Kratyed pre-CU dam sliced (pre-cu maxdam w/pup 780) DE-10 with ADK (no pup on)
Speed.2.32
My modified speed: 1.39s
Dam: 432-1002
Base DPS: 308.49/sec
My modified DPS: 514.89/sec
Range 0-35 (+5m from cybernetic arm)
SAC: 84
I still use this DE-10 alot, mainly becuse it has high burst dam, it has adk ie no decay, and it took 8 other previous de-10's pre-cu &140 hours to get "back inthe day". Got a bank full ofit's sibblings (a fewpre-cu 640-685 wpup) ones that will be mounted in my "The museum of victims of theCURB"
I have started collecting up some of the quest rewardpistols(Avatar station has some sweet ones, both for your wall, and you hands) but as for myrole as crowd controller I am going to getsome low speed krayted pistolsbuilt, not for dps, but just for being able tofire roots & snares as fastas possible. Ialso have a belt withriflespeed & rifleaccuracy tousewith any fastrifle so that Ican start rooting & snaring at a safedistance while thetank & damage dealers gets dirty up in front. I look forward to the Grevious/Construct/Necrosissmuggler pistolshe can drop as random weapon lootas they has some skillmods on them.

they werent Brackasets....they were bigger...Malmuks or something like that.
This is the thanks I get for sacrifing my poor life to save your poor asses?

Sorry, dont want to flame, but I want the SP you have..I can only get Master Smuggler/Master Carbineer/Pistoleer 0-4-0-4 with the 250 SP I have. (I have 4 SP left) I am NOT able to get your said Template.. I pressume you made a normal type0

I was just wondering the same... My alt is MS/MC/0440 Pistoleer, I would love to have 3 branches too

Liar, they were brackasets, I remember quite clearly.
When he says MC he means Master Commando, not Carbineer. Commando takes Ranged Support, same as Pistoleer, and Unarmed, same as Smuggler, so he's got an extra 14 skillpoints by not having to learn another basic branch.

I decided to do a different approach to my template
Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer and for good measure I have 4040 TKA. I have the meditate tree for the heals and stuff. And I have the TK power tree well, I guess I could take a different approach, but that's what I have.

When the guy said he had MS/MC/4404 pistols, the MC = Master Commando, not Master Carbineer, I believe. I only assume that to be true since that's the direction I'm going with my smuggler/commando/pistoleer...
