all the hard core players will pay out the nose and these rare loots will sell for mad crazy money, just like anything new and rare every introduced to the game. Things will die down and prices will settle. It's not a big suprise at this point. I'm gonna keep my loots for myself for now!

I've pretty much decided that I'm only going to slice for people who bring their own components. The components that I loot I will use for myself, or I will sell.
It's not like I can loot enough of them in a reasonable amount of time to make slicing worthwhile, anyway.

I put a post on my server's trade boards to buy simple kits for 1000c and fine kits for 5000c just to get things started. I won't be buying the rare components though. People are going to want too much for them and the demand for those slices might not even exist.

Ditto. These are the prices I'm buying at. I figure if we can influence the market early enough then things won't get out of hand. I mean really, pre-cu a quality krayt pearl went for 200kish and I could crank 'em out sooooo fast it was unreal. This is the same kind of loot we need for our stuff so we might as well set the buying price something reasonable.

Good luck in my opinion about buying those items so cheaply.
So far on flurry I have made an effort to stop the gougers and buy these components at what I consider to be a LOW price.
I am paying:
Simple Toolkit - 25k
Finely Crafted Toolset - 50k
Illegal Core Booster - 200k
Delicate Trigger Assembly - 200k
I am attempting to do the same thing you all are, hitting the market with prices before the uber hardcore players start charging high amounts.
If a colored crystal drops off a merc and it sells for 25k... a simple toolkit will easily sell for that much.

Only if someone is willing to buy it for that price.

The thing is I don't NEED to buy anything. I can always say "Sure I will do your slice, just bring me Component X." Even if I never get asked to do a slice how is that any different than the way I've been playing in the last month?
Remember, we have the power of the purse here. We can choose to buy or not to buy. If the market gets nuts we can just let customers fight it out themselves.

simple kits will imo not go for 25k per... or even 50k per for the finely crafted tool kit.
selling on my server simple from 1-2k a piece and 6-10k per finely crafted...
i dont think they will go for any higher then that.
And imo i dont think anyone will pay 200k+ for an 8% damage slice...

Especially when people start finding out that we can't slice above Cap. If most weapons people are buying are already at Cap then they wouldn't waste their time and money trying to get a high end slices when they know it can't be applied to their item. In turn the lower level players won't spend their precious creds to buy components to slice a weapon they know they probably won't have for more than a couple of weeks. Hell most players can reach level 80 in a week without double XP, I went fron CL25 to CL80 in two days with double XP. It's a catch-22. If they change so Smugglers can slice above cap then we are looking at something different.
