Thread: need advice with upcoming last Respec
I'm really starting to believe that the goal of the developers to make each template choice fun is working really well.
If I were you, I'd do what I wanted. I'm thinking about respecing from MBH/MRifles/Pistols 0404 to MSmug/MCommando/Pistols 4404.
Rifles is a nice choice in the GCW because of the range and damage. Watch out because there are rumors the devs will nerf rifleman to either run or shoot slower.
I really feel that any template choice you make will be viable and be capable of doing the things you design the template to do.

well said, I still want to hear temps too, so i can maybe find something odd and fun i havent thought of.
My first spec I tryed coming out of the CU was MSmuggler/MPistoleer/Commando 0-4-4-4: which was ok but I didn't get grenades and lost all the master commando weapon options.
My final temp is MSmuggler/MCommado/Pistoleer 4-4-0-4: I get all the commando hvy weapon options and grenades, I lose the master pistoleer weapons which can be replaced by a good DE-10, FWG or Renegade. I don't feal I lost any dmg with my pistols for dropping master pistoleer box, but till AoE gets fixed I can sadly say the Commando is not living up to it 5 offense rating. but over all I'm happier with the wapon selection this template gives then going the pure Pistol route!

Ideally, I would like to be Smuggler/Commando - that's what I was before the CU. But now, Commando is pretty well broken, with no real word on when they plan to fix it - if ever. So I respecced out and went with Smuggler/BH/Pistols 0004.
I really can't stand Jedi, and can't imagine that I would ever want to spend any of my time in the game intentionally trying to find one...but I guess it is nice to know I can kill one if they really bother me enough. BH does have some nice specials though that compliment Smuggler well. Really gives you a wide range of pistol attacks - plus the use of the scatter pistol. Concussion, Reckless, Critical, Torso, Underhand, Stopping, Fan, Panic...plenty of "tools" to choose from.

here's my reasoning behind this template:
any smuggler should pick up novice Commando since the prereqs overlap. it adds to general ranged speed and accuracy, plus ranged and melee defense.
master Marksman seems to be underappreciated. it adds something like +25 general ranged acc, and +20 general ranged speed. plus you'll be fairly handy with ANY type of ranged weapon you pick up. it costs quite a bit of skillpoints, but i think it's actually less skillpoints than taking up the BH stuff.
Carbineer 0010 for Charge shot, the ranged KD. everyone needs a ranged KD. i just wish they'd give Low Blow its KD back. if they ever do that i will drop Charge shot (keeping novice Carbineer) and pick up novice Rifleman in it's place. but for now the ranged KD is more important than being slightly more adept with a rifle.
i've been thinking of a new and different template for my alt. he might not be a master Smuggler though. so i'll have to play around with some ideas for him... i'll most likely pick up Last Ditch for him though since that's the dirtiest fighting move and he's not one to play by the rules.
I'm a MSmug/NoviceMerchant/2223Pistols right now which seems pretty fun for me. I get plenty of combat skillsbalanced with the ability to run a business in-game...which is what I wanted ![]()
Might drop some more Scout boxes to finish Pistols, but no big deal yet ![]()
Alot depends on whether they fix/tweak stuff. I'm sat at Master Marksman andMaster Carbs, with some Rifles stilll to grind, but if they change Concussion shot, I'll not need to worry about Rifle range so much and so switch to Master Carbs and Pistols 0404.
