I like the idea of the innate armor but I think a better way to have a disguise would be fake titles such as a smuggler wearing a mbh title or something like that.

I like both ideas.
The disguise one sounds really fun, though.

i LOVE both ideas and heres why.

For a long long time i sued to refuse to wear armour. My guildmates would ask why and my reply would be "apart from the stormtrooper armour when did you EVER see Han Solo wear a suit fo armour" answer, NEVER. On a few occasions i was called stupid and sometimes they could end up a vicious discussions. Smugglers need an idea like this, it makes us smugglery and offers something different to those players wanting to start a proffesion with its on individualities.

The disuise idea is genius but youd have to look at it from a griefing angle. Would players be able to use this to greif others in PvP and if so how bad would it be. No doubt there would be a work around but damnit i wanna suit up in some stormy armour and confuse people. Heres a cool addition. When in disguise your name is hidden and an npc style name apperas instead even when you talk in spatial, that way you could really have some fun with annoying players lol

can we still rate posts cause if so this idea gets 5 stars mate

I've seen how well innate armor has worked thus far and I want no part in it. Plus you can't AB slice innate armor so yeah....I'm gonna say no to that. I like disguises though.

I like the innate armor idea because I too hate armor as a smuggler. It just doesn't feel right wearing armor being a smuggler. I feel that I should be combat ready wearing my badass camo spec ops duster and striped Solo Style pants

We've all said it... Smuggler's should gain innate armour for two reasons:

1) Its very un-smuggler-like to wear armour

2) It better represents the smuggler's ability to "avoid death"

But then it came to me.. why not go one step further and change the way armour is handled for Smugglers to not only protect us but us a level of disguise... we all remember Han Solo donning Stormtrooper armour to aide him "smuggle" Princess Leia off the Death Star. So, here it is.. the art of disguise.

Innate Armour

All Smugglers gain innate armour (similar TK innate). The values for innate armour would, at master, be around 5k on all stats. However, when worn in conjuction with a special smuggling disguise suit this can be increased to as much as 6k (meeting TK innate armour stats). Smuggler innate armour is removed while wearing standard armour.

Disguise Suit

A disguise suit is effectively a "fake" set of armour that allows a Smuggler to pose as a large variety of different combatants. Although a Disguise Suit doesn't hold any actual armour defense values, it does increase the Smuggler's innate value. There are two classifications of Disguise Suits;

Faction

Faction disguise suits are fake sets of factional armour. For instance, a full set of Stormtrooper armour or Rebel recon armour. While wearing this fake set of armour, it will set you to combatant of the corresponding faction regardless of your standard factional allignments. For instance, if you equip a set of fake Stormtrooper armour it will make you an Imperial combatant regardless of you are usualy Rebel or Imperial. This means a Rebel-faction-aligned smuggler could don Imperial armour and sneak past Imperial patrols and even speak with an Imperial recruiter and bribe them to hand over faction points and vice versa while wearing a Rebel suit.

Neutral

Neutral Disguise Suits include standard fake versions of armour such as Composite or Padded. While in a Neutral disguise kit, you will be automaticaly placed to "on leave" for your current faction, allowing a Smuggler to quickly change his/her factional standings quickly.

This, I think, gives a much better "smuggler" feeling. It allows you to avoid capture and detection, to sneak past enemies un-noticed, to even trade with the opposing side and, ofcourse, allows Smugglers to "accidently" get into a bar brawl and not have to look silly by asking the apponent to wait while you sling on a set of armour. Not to mention the benefits of being able to "switch sides" in order to better trade faction points.

Not to rain on your parade, but even Han relied on a set of actual stormtrooper armor, not a special stealth suit. IMO, such a suit would better... well suit acommando. I like the innate armor idea though, as I think Smuggler should be interested in avoiding attention, and what better way to attract some than running around in a full suit of recon armor?

Smuggler's innate armour wouldn't be as strong as TK armour UNLESS wearing one of the armour disguise suits. As for armour break not working? Thats a bug and will eventualy get fixed and shouldn't be a reason to not add innate armour for other profressions.

Han didn't rely on a set of actual stormtrooper armour at all except for using it as a disguise to openly walk around the Death Star. You can garuntee that the thought of using it for protection would not have crossed his mind once. It's not in his nature ... nor is it in the nature of most Smugglers. Why would they want to be walking around in bulk hulks of armour? They spend most of their time drinking beer, playing cards and flying ships.

"Thats a great idea, but it screws us Ithorian smugglers. Screws us hard...."

The only part that's kinda unfair for Ithorian's and Wookiee smugglers is the faction armour part since both Ithorian and Wookiee have armour that would fit into the "neutral armour disguse suits". But both Ithorian and Wookiee already lose out on most things faction so I'm sorry but its just an extension of that ... maybe a set of Wookiee and Ithorian armour's fake versions can be made to give the same faction swapping effects instead. Other than that, the innate armour really benefits both Ithorian and Wookiee ... especialy Wookiee.. I know my Wookiee char would appreciate innate armour since I only have him wearing bandoleer's to look more appropriate and "Wookiee like".

There is another idea that sort of links with this, but its one I'm not really that kean on which is why I didn't add it in the first place, but here it is anyway:

Smuggler special: Avoid Detection

When a Smuggler uses the "AVoid Detection" special, s/he becomes invisible to other player's radars and will decrease the chances of being aggroed by enemy NPC's and mobs. Possible visual effects could be the same as Force Cloak. This effect could be broken by a ranger.

In Star Wars, armour is highlyregulated. Having someone running around in a set would bring the authorities down upon you. This isn't the case in this game. Heck you can even round around with your weapon equipped which is alsoa big NO NO on most planets.
