I think as smugglers, we should get a cert for a POB ship. This ship would define us as a class and would make up for everything else the devs have done to us. The ship I am suggesting is a...

YT-2400 or 2000... That would be sweet. Though people would be upset that only we got it.

No... What would happen is alot of people would change to Smuggler just to get these ships (or at least some would anyway). Then theywould see for themselves how neglected the Smuggler profession is. This would cause new protests about the profession, resulting in even more canceled accounts and/or demands that the "Smuggler Perk" ships be made available to everyone.
And since SOE probably already realizes this.... it will never happen.

I can't remember the yt-2400 or 2000........how similar are they to the 1300? Which of course is the ultimate smuggler ship(for obvious reasons)

Fixed.

The YT-2400 is in the original trilogy. Well, at least in the Special Edition.
Watch Luke and Ben's entry into Mos Eisley. You will see a starship take off and fly over the city. That is Dash Rendar's Outrider. A heavily modified YT-2400 Transport.
Here is a good quote:
The Outrider is an ebony Corellian YT-2400 freighter converted for smuggling duty. The ship features the trademark saucer-shaped hull of the YT series, but is is a more modern YT-2400 (as opposed to the older YT-1300s, such as the Millennium Falcon). This newer ship is like most Corellian designs: fast, tough, and endlessly modifiable.
With thick armor plating and bulky engines, the YT-2400 can easily handle the strain of deep-space combat. The vessel has power to spare and an oversize hull begging for hot-rodded engines and powerful weapons; it’s obvious that when the Corellian Engineering corporation sold this ship as a "stock cargo hauler," it was with a wink and a grin.
Rendar’s YT-2400 features a rounded hull with a pair of starboard bracing arms that connect to the cockpit compartment, which is essentially a long tube. The aft section of the cockpit tube contains the primary escape pod, which seats six. The bracing arm’s interior space generally is used for crew quarters and living space.
The rounded hull area is devoted to cargo holds and ship’s systems. In practice, much of the interior hull space is taken up by modified engines, power generators, weapons systems, and all the other illegal goodies any self-respecting smuggling ship needs. A second escape pod, as well as the air lock, is located on the far side of the cargo compartment, directly opposite the bracing arms.
Dash, being a typical smuggler, decided to take advantage of the YT-2400’s adaptability. His first step was to replace the engine with three stolen KonGar KGDefender military-grade ion engines. A modified SoroSuub Griffyn/Y2TG hyperdrive gives the Outrider a Class 0.75 hyperspace speed rating-slower than the Millennium Falcon’s Class 0.50 hyperdrive but faster than most military vessels, which are either Class One or Class Two. Powerful shield generators and a highly illegal sensor stealth system make the Outrider a perfect smuggling ship.
A pair of heavy Dymek double laser cannons, personally modified by Dash for greater range, are dorsal- and ventral- mounted on standard Corellian 1 D servo turrets. They normally are manned but can be controlled via the targeting computer in the cockpit, although accuracy is then significantly reduced. Two forward-firing concussion-missile launchers are mounted on the cockpit tube and have a magazine of three missiles each.
Dash has relied on this ship to save his life countless times. It’s not uncommon for smugglers and other spacers to get emotionally attached to their vessels, and Dash is no exception. He has been heard saying, "I owe the Outrider the best… she’s brought me home when any other ship would have scattered me across space."
I bolded the significant part, hoping that if they add it into the game, we can fire from the cockpit as well.
The YT-2000 Transport:
The YT-2000 transport was a precursor to the YT-2400 that saw a limited production run, but was a significant improvement over the traditionally used YT-1300. The cockpit is situated in the center of the craft unlike the YT-2000's predecessors, also the cockpit set-up is different. Instead of having the pilot and co-pilot side by side, the pilot is in front while the co-pilot is situated behind and raised above the pilot. There is no room for other persons in the cockpit. Even with all of these changes, this ship still maintains the traditional YT series saucer design. With the cockpit pod in the center of the ship, docking and maneuvering was made easier as opposed to having to gauge distance to the far side of the ship.
Additionally, the ship boasts a double laser turret standard, due to the more dangerous times in which the ship was created. Rumors about that the YT-2000 was originally intended to be the "next generation" model of transports for Corellian Engineering Corporation, however industrial espionage forced them to release the ship before the design was finalized lest that be beaten to the punch by a competitor. It was also rumored that the engineers at CEC had trouble convincing the Imperial Regulatory Commission that the YT-2000 was a civilian ship. This ship is heavily armed and armored and is amazingly agile for a craft of its size
The Otana is Tomaas Azzameen's personal freighter. It is faster and more maneuverable than the regular YT-2000. It boasts a medium Ion Cannon along with Dorsal and Ventral Quad Laser Turrets. Tomaas and Galin Azzameen personally modified it. With the Ion Cannon the "Otana" is a formidable opponent.
