Thread: Apparently, My Home Town is on Jay Leno Tonight

My home town is gonna be on there.


I live in Metropolis, Illinois. We're the official Home of the Superman and we just had our "Superman Celebration" that happens the first week of June every year.


I guess Leno's show sent people in to make us look like idiots. Too bad the Daily Show with John Stewart beat them to it a couple years ago lol


It's funky. This town has a 15 foot tall statue of Superman in our town square.....but a big ass gambling boat on the river like half a mile away Sewhoste on Tarqwill back me up on this if you don't believe it.

Bitchin'!!! Once the Daily Show did a segment of a town right next to my hometown called Enterprise, Alabama. They have a statue of a boll weavil (sp?) bug. It looks like a Rock Beatle from SWG.

LOL...I know Metropolis, I grew up in Southeast Missouri. There is another town that is the home of Popeye but I can't remember the dang name

It could be worse.


The company I work for will not hire anybody else from my hometown (40 miles away) because of the 3 people from that town that theyhave hiredI was the first and Iam the only one that has been able to do the job. My town has been the target ofinsults, trailerparkcomments,and redneck jokesbya weatherman on a network television station.

I thought Metropolis was supposed to be in Kansas. I know Smallville was. And Kansas isn't that close to Illinois.

Umm, I'm pretty sure that NYC is real, Nick. Only the apartments aren't as big as the ones shown on "Friends".
